Took my dad, far too soon. Fark it hard, sideways, with a red hot poker.

Cancer is a b!tch... I've lost quite a few family members to it as well. It's never fun to watch. So I feel your pain. :hugs:

The crazy part though is I wonder how much of all these cancer and neurological diseases could be prevented even just with a regular sleep schedule (7+ hours). I listened to Matthew Walker (nueroscientist) on Joe Rogan's podcast, and I honestly didn't realize how much damage we do to ourselves by living under the "I'll sleep when I'm dead" mantra. The part of our immune system that kills cancer is reduced dramatically every night that we don't get our 7+ hours of sleep, so we're incapable of fighting it off. Same goes for killing the plaque that causes so many cases of dementia. Tons of other crazy info/stats/studies in that podcast that I didn't even realize the correlation. Our bodies simply were NOT designed/evolved to safely live the kinds of lifestyles/schedules that we do today...and we're starting to pay for it.

Fixing that and getting away from all of the horrible substance we ingest in the typical American diet would go a long ways in reducing the majority of sickness and disease that is so prevalent these days.

So if 7 hours+ of sleep is good then more than that is even better, right? My sleep schedule is all effed up most times. So I either sleep far too little(and get cranky/irritable) or far too much. I will say one thing though, once I get to sleep the dreams I have had at times are more entertaining than 90% of the shit on TV nowadays.nod
