Question about rewardsurvey.com

0 Deal Score
5,198 Views
Had some points and decided to get some 'free' magazines from rewardsurvey.

Choose:
Popular Mechanics - 10 issues/99 cents
Good Housekeeping - 24 issues

My understand is that for Popular Mechanics I pay 99 cents for processing to get the subscription, thats fine I don't mind.

But afterwards reading the fine print it sounds like my subscriptions will be automatically renewed.

Is that correct?

Is there a way to cancel the automatic renewal but keep getting the magazine?

Thanks!
(apologies in advance since this is not a post for Free Magazines, but it deals with Free Magazines thats why I posted here)

I currently have many magazine subscriptions through Reward Survey & it does not auto renew.
When you receive your last issue they will send you a notice informing you that the subscription is about to expire.

I have fail yet to pay not even1¢ for magazines subscriptions.
I just wait until it either goes back to 0.00 or go to the other site.Wink

I have many magazines that I get from rewards survey also and have NEVER had one auto renew. Like Victor4461 said, either 1 month before your final issue or on the last issue, they will give you the option of renewing. I just ignore and throw the bill out and wait to find another offer from another site, too.

It's the best way to get magazines, believe me.Have you seen what an issue of most magazines cost in the grocery store?!?!?!!?!? Outrageous! Free is the way to go! Smilie

Thanks for the replies.
Their terms and conditions were a bit confusing:
Toward the end of your subscription period, we will send a renewal terms reminder notice and you authorize your account to be charged the rate on the notice for the next year of issues, or as otherwise noted, unless you choose to cancel

So it sounded like I HAD to choose to cancel.
Thanks again

This sounds to me like the $2 magazine subscription deals where you do have to cancel, or be charged the (extortionate) rate.

I never had any problems with RS, but I also haven't done any subscriptions with their service fee. Maybe it's different? I think Blue Dolphin is their provider, and it's easy to cancel through them.

Rewardsurvey used to only have free subs - they added subs you had to pay for (non-free '99 cent processing fee' subs) last year so those subs will auto-renew (since they now have your credit card info). For truly free subs, they can't renew as they don't have your CC info.

I would advise to check Recyclebank - https://www.recyclebank.com/rewar...-magazines - to see if they have the mag you want before paying for the 99 cent subs.

Im not sure since I refuse to pay 99 cents when I earned all their reward dollars and many mags now are new subscriptions only but since all of their subs go through an agency it is almost certain since you have to pay the 99 cents youre set on auto renewal and if it requires a credit card for the 99 cents then absolutely certain. My counsel is stick with the free ones and search for free offers on others you want.
Rewardsurvey used to be great but slowly over time eroded since many people sign up for multiple subs and merge them into one and extend out accordingly the expiration dates.

Crap, I already bought 2 magazines with 99 cent processing fees.

Do I have to wait toward the end of my subscription to tell them to cancel auto renewal or can I ask them to stop auto renewal at any time?

Thanks

Do you know which agency processed the magazines? It looks like Blue Dolphin might have, and with them, you can just email to cancel.

It was Blue Dolphin.
But my subscription hasn't even started yet.

Can I email them now to take away 'auto renewal' - or do I need to wait until my subscription is almost over and then email them to 'cancel'

Thanks

it looks like it will auto renew, you probably go to magazine website to cancel, use a disposable gift card to pay the 99 cents, then it cant renew

Q. Why are there some products with discounted costs?
A. Some products are available with a combination of points and a discounted price. The publications will include automatic renewal service for your convenience. The total must be paid with a valid U.S. credit card and cannot be fully paid with RewardSurvey Points.

You should be able to cancel right now. Be sure to note each subscription in your email. Once I asked to cancel all auto-renewals on my account, but they wouldn't do it that way, and I had to cancel one by one.

But I don't want to cancel now, I just want to stop auto renewal, I don't want to cancel the subscription.

I did was use a "virtual credit card/one time use" number. So hopefully Chase will stop the auto renewal Smilie
