Newegg via Ebay has the Aspire TC-780-AMZKi5 I5 7400 computer on sale now for $339.99.
It has an Intel Core i5-7400 quad cpu, 8GB DDR4 ram, a 2TB HDD, and Win 10. A slot is
available for an m.2 drive.

Some more specs:
CPU Intel Core i5 (7th Gen) 7400 / 3 GHz
Max Turbo Speed 3.5 GHz
Memory Speed 2133 MHz
Installed Size 8 GB

This PC was just yesterday selling for $399 from the same seller. It's been front page at $359.99 three times this year, so I guess it's a rather popular model. I just bought one at the $399 price with a now expired 10% off coupon. I overpaid by $20.00. Ha ha

Seems like a great deal! Only question, does it have room/option to add a SSD and dedicated video card?

I haven't tried adding either myself. You can put an SSD into the thing, apparently. The computer's motherboard only has two sata connections, so you'd have to unplug the dvd drive. Or, maybe you could get a pci sata connection card to give you a couple of more sata connections.

Apparently, you can install a graphics card as well; the computer does have a slot for it. The card has to be rather short, however, as space is somewhat limited in the computer case. It has to be rated for installations with a 300 watt power supply as well.

Here are a couple of videos on this matter on youtube:

Video 02 [youtube.com]

From what I've seen, there are a number of video cards that can be used including 1050's, 1030's, and 730's. It's just important to get a card that will fit and won't be a power hog.

I looked maybe 10 times to see if this deal had been posted as I was writing it, including once right before posting it. The deal you mentioned didn't come up once.

I looked again just now, trying to find the deal you mentioned. I tried three or four times. It didn't show up at all. But then, suddenly, it did.

What a waste of time for a deal no one is interested in. Something is up with slickdeals' coding. Maybe it's a problem with caching.

This, or a Dell Inspiron with an i3-8100, 8GB RAM, and 1 TB hd, for $380? Assuming the user does not need more than 1 TB. I assume the Dell would be better since I think the i3-8100 is better?

I am with you on this. That deal never appeared before. I do search about 10 times a day for desktops. I even searched once you posted this to make sure previous deals on this computer. That post never showed up. But again, Slickdeals is sneaky .... The "Slickdeals community" makes even not so good deal a "hot deal." This computer has been hot for $360 a few times and nobody talks about it when it is for $340. Maybe you are not an insider!

The Dell processor gets a higher passmark on CPU bench. Can you please post the link for it?

You could have gotten the Dell Open-Box for $350 from Best Buy. Some may not like to buy Open-Box, but I buy open-box items all the time and they are like new.

I'm interested in this for gaming. Are you able to replace the graphics card, or is it good enough to run most games on normal levels?
