In some cases, it's much easier to reinstall then worry about finding some random issue that never ends up having a real solution.
I've only had 1 of these with win10, so far. Been running it since it came out. I was stuck on a build that would not update. Used every method I could find, finally just reinstalled the OS with the latest build, would have saved myself so many hours and frustration.
250 GB is more than enough to load Windows 10 Pro and store your files, especially if you also use cloud drives.

I am sorry, but feels funny? Why bother reinstalling windows when you can just fix the issue?
That seems like such a waste. For large storage and backups, yes, good idea.
250GB is a collosal waste for an OS that only needs 15-20GB of space.

My current, now dead PC used a 750GB HD as its system and main data drive. I.e. it held not only the OS (also Windows 7), but also all software, My Documents, Photos, Music, Video, etc., plus some Media Center TV recordings and a bunch of other stuff.
Anyway, I can probably offload much of this to a dedicated data drive, either SSD or HD, and thus be able to use a smaller fast SSD as the system drive and dedicate it to mostly the OS and software, and perhaps data that I use frequently and want to load fast.
So, all this is by way of asking if 256GB should be enough for this, or if it's better to get a larger SSD, and if so how much larger? What size SSD are most people using as their system drive these days on custom builds, not for high-end screamers on which they'll be running the most power and resource-hungry games and CAD, animation or video processing software, but neither for low-end email and word processing PCs, either? E.g. opening up 5-10 browser tabs, several large spreadsheets, a Word doc, a bunch of PDFs, and a Media Center window in the corner to watch live or recorded TV?
I.e. what's the sweet spot in SSD size for the system drive in new builds for higher-end but not extreme high end PCs?

Or just tie wrap it to somewhere convenient. These SSDs are very lightweight, and don't get hot.
