Thanks, been looking for another Kodi box. Running LibreElec on one of these has been as good as my shield. Although I just use the TV for Netflix, Hulu, etc.

No.

LibreElec runs off an SD card, and I installed a app called "Reboot to LibreElec" and it reboots directly to it. It seems to always boot to LibreElec now, but when I shut down "Kodi" it asks if I want to boot to Android and if I wanted to go back to Android I'd select that.

Personally I don't trust these with my google account so I just side-loaded the app ( https://apkpure.com/reboot-to-lib...bootupdate ) so I don't have to pass along that info.

Also to note, I used a 32GB Card, but really a 8gb or so would be more than plenty. I just have only 32gb MicroSD card's laying around.

I don't want the extra remote. Is there a link for the device without the remote (and still be able to use the coupon code )?

Yes. You purchase the same device, but just use this coupon code at checkout: PutExtraRemoteInTheTrashCan

It's only $14 more for a Xiaomi Mi Box and that's a higher quality, better-supported device with chromecast built in. This box doesn't do Android TV so the experience is worse. Worth only about $35 IMO.

Highly recommend the Mi box over this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mi-Box...V/54827138

Yeah, I have tried a few of these generic Chinese android boxes and have been very disappointed every time. The remotes suck, they dont run Android tv, there is no support or OS updates, etc.. Not worth it. Get a Mi Box, of Fire TV and side load the apps you want.

I agree. Only a handful of these boxes have android tv os and widevine L1/3 support for true HD playback from netflix or youtube. Get the mibox or wait for the new one

Just say no. None of these commenters mentioned the 2GB of ram, which is a big reason why the Android boxes reboot. Perhaps memory management has gotten better in Android 8.0 but I doubt it.

If the memory is ECC, that's another story but when the device heats up, you'll get more memory problems.

Most Android boxes out there are spoofing the ram to show more anyways. It's become a common tactic they have begun doing I've read. So paying more for a 3/4gb is kinda useless at this point.

If you want to use it for Netflix, Hulu, etc I agree this isn't a great box.

If you want a Kodi specific box this is ideal when running OpenElec and forgetting about the whole Android side of it.
