Has anyone here actually owned this X4 phone? If so, I would really be interested in getting some feedback about it. I am currently using a Moto G5 Plus, the 64GB/4GB Ram version, and I really like it, for the most part; but after now having been using the phone for over a year, it's showing its age a little and the battery is not quite as good as it used to be. So, I'm curious if the Moto X4 would be a significant/noticeable upgrade to the G5 Plus?
And would this be considered a good/great deal at $200?
Also, much thanks to the OP for posting this deal on here for others to see!
The X4 has the same size screen and the Snapdragon 630 is not that much faster than the 625 in the G5 Plus. I wouldn't spend $200 for a 10% or so bump in performance.
Moto X4 camera is excellent, body construction, water protection is the difference and that's why moto X4 is very superior to all g series. Definitely $200 is a great deal

I've owned this phone since getting it from Prime day to replace my aging Nexus 5x that was running on half the processors (due to boot loop workaround). I don't know how it compares to the G5 Plus but compared to my half broken and aging 5x it is night and day. Battery lasts about twice as long, significantly faster, clearer screen, faster finger print reader, surprisingly adequate camera, and a very similar stock OS feel to the 5x. It checked off all the boxes for me, and it's microsd expandable and has NFC. So far after a couple of weeks I have no complaints.

Thanks for the prompt response and the feedback! To be honest, I also bought the phone on PrimeDay, but I ended up doing the on the $40x5 installment plan, and I am not sure whether or not I want to keep the phone, so I literally have not even taking the plastic off the box yet and checked the phone out. Your feedback is encouraging, though, so I might check it out and end up keeping it.
Yes, I know I can still return it even after opening the box; but I don't want to do that, unless, I'm almost certainly going to keep the phone. Also, yes, it was something up an impulsive buy; but I was wanting to take advantage of it during the PrimeDay sale and, especially, because I was eligible for the installment payment plan on it.

Looking at the specs, the G5 Plus and x4 are incredibly similar. Even the look of the phones is nearly identical. It looks like the big improvement over the G5 is the cameras (x4 has a solid front camera and dual rear cameras and takes really good portrait mode photos). Personally if I had the G5 Plus already I probably wouldn't find the $200 price tag on the x4 to be worth the marginal gains, but that really comes down to personal preference.
Moto G6 had a sd450 processor, but in practice is pretty close to the sd625 that was on the G5 Plus. I think it's about a wash on cpu in day to day performance. You'd have to compare the specific models when talking about storage and RAM, I don't know those off hand.
The X4 adds ip68, NFC, wide angle back lens (in addition to standard). If you bought the x4 from Google, it would be the Android One edition meaning it would get updates pretty fast. This is not that version, but it's note worthy if researching online.
The Moto G6 adds the taller 18:9 display.
Both phones have glass backs (lame), front fp readers, and headphone jacks.
basically same battery, similar processor, same screen, less ram and storage, really the ony thing I can see it really has that I would use is the type-c USB and the NFC

I just replaced my battery on a 3 year old Nexus 6. I took it to a shop and it cost about $40 parts and labor. I had no choice since due to using phone in extreme heat the battery was swollen. It was worth it to me to be able to use the phone when traveling and as a backup. If your battery is 75% good, I would advise you to leave it alone. IF it is less then 50% then you might want to replace it yourself or at a shop. I also have a moto G5 plus.

How much you paid for this same phone on prime day deal?
my huawei honor 8 is draining battery and would like a replacement. will this be a good choice? honor 8 has 4gb ram, not sure if 1gb difference will make a big difference.

The same price as this, $200. Before the PrimeDay sale, the phone was actually selling for $350 on Amazon, but, immediately after the PrimeDay sale was over, the price dropped to $280. And I believe it's still $280 on Amazon right now.
