I was considering it until I read the Tom's Hardware Review [tomshardware.com]

"We compared the Adata Ultimate SU800 512GB to a handful of other products with the same capacity and felt this product let us down. We can't recommend it over the Crucial MX300 525GB, but that is a very low bar to start with. Even with an amazing holiday deal (a very low price), we would spend more to get a better SSD."

Got an email with $15 in extra urlhasbeenblocked points just because. Got 512GB version for $63 shipped, which is great for me.

The way the nand supplies are increasing, there is lot of news saying the cost per GB will be down to 80 cents with in next 6-12 months.

edit 1: 8 cents per GB

Oh wow. I was going to skim this through and then point out that an MX300 is much more expensive than this, and that it might still be worth it $-value wise. But unless drivers have really turned around performance on this SSD, this is just a bad product.

Thanks for the warning, and repped.

Problem is that the review has not been updated since the may 15 2018 firmware update. http://www.adata.com/en/download/410

"System compatibility optimization."
