If you're not that concerned about rack space, probably much cheaper to get a shelf and put this on it than get a rackmount version from what I've seen.

Do they make Li-ion UPS yet? Seems those would be cheaper in the long run due to longer service life and reduced energy use from not having to trickle a PbA battery constantly.

It depends entirely on your power supply. Some power supplies work just fine with simulated sine wave and others do not. If your current computer works fine, there is no guarantee your next one will, too.

Lithium Ion batteries cost significantly more. Like two or three times more so they are not very common right now. In a few years they should be comparable, though.
