Just found what I believe to be the last one left in my store. Was mixed in with the Foodsaver vacuum seal boxes. No display or price, brought it up to the register and when she told me $49 I said sounds good. Online costco has it for 54.99 which is still worth it.

Made some steak fries as soon as I got home. Put some on the bottom and then used the tier rack. The ones on the tier got burned after 15 mins. The ones on the bottom were great. Better than the oven by far. And so much quicker. 15 mins with no warming up like the oven. Can't wait to test this on different foods and learn the best way to use it.

Don't bother. I found one in my local Costco. The pot design is the worst. The pot is one piece with ventilation holes cut on the wall. I could imagine oil could splash through the ventilation holes into the unit. The plastic looks very cheap. I would avoid it.

I picked one up and love it, have cooked fries, shrimp, potstickers in it so far, works great. Have to remember to stop about halfway and shake the basket. Way better than an oven/fryer and much quicker. I would not avoid, I would buy for $50 bucks it is great. Clean up is a breeze and never had oil splash out as you are not supposed to use that much, only a sprinkling if needed sprayed on food. Have not had to spray anything on shrimp, or store bought frozen fries yet.

Looks like you have no experience with this or any air fryer.
Oil never would splash on anything. You don't put any significant amount of oil in these. Some foods may cook (read brown/crisp) better with a coating of cooking oil spray, but this is like a convection oven, not a deep fryer.

Also which plastic looks cheap to you? The housing? I don't get your complaint about that.
The housing on all of these is very similar.

Good luck to you in your quest, and in experiencing the joys of air fryers.

I am using a 3.5 qt from different brand. I am looking for a bigger one. So, I do have some extend of experience with air fryer.

If you cook food with fat like chicken wing, it will splash regardless if you coat it with oil or not. With is single pot design, although you get bigger cooking area, you will end up with a greasy unit. You will get more smoke down the road. It is the same issue with traditional oven. It is impossible to clean inside it.

So you meant splatter. Not splash. I think English translation might be an issue, but all you need to do is clean it after any splatter is made. I have been using mine for maybe a couple years now, and there is only a small build up of baked on grease on the bottom side of the inner pan. I did not think to clean that for a while, and now it is a bit too late. I do not want to scrub it with abrasive material, since it is non-stick coated. I get no smoking from that.

I still see no explanation of your other complaint - No details of cheap plastic you mentioned. Where? I looked this over pretty thoroughly in the store as well and looks just fine as far as any plastic content.

My only minor gripe would be that the inner tray bottom piece will come out with the food if you dump the entire contents at once, instead of removing the food with utensils. Still better imo compared to having to remove a separate inner pan like my current one. Some gripe they would prefer a double pan, but that cuts down on volume as well.

You get what you like. If any grease gets through the air vent holes to the unit, clean it off after use. If you always prefer to cook these greasy splattering foods, I guess you may not prefer to deal with it and that is understandable.
