Sprint is cannibalizing its own MVNOs with its one year free program. Hence these offers. The only reason to go in on this is if you absolutely positively refuse to submit to a credit pull by Sprint. From past experience Tello checks everything to ensure you're a new customer. If they've seen your ESN, ICCID, or CC before, you won't be able to take advantage of the offer.

I have a Leeco S3 as my backup. It didn't work on Tello when I typed in my IMEI.

Anyone got a workaround? This phone doesn't seem to be on the list.

Been a tello customer for over a year. Very good sprint mvno. Tello dollars with the referral can be used to buy $10 of paygo credit. Their paygo offering is great for the casual user or for a spare phone.

I agree. The 1 year free Sprint is great if you're ok with hard CC pull.

Good info. I'm on the last month of Sprint free unlimited.

$0 tax in California probably $0 tax everywhere.
Plus $10 in tello bucks for you and $10 for a friend if they are a new customer.

My free unlimited date year with Sprint just ended in August.
I'd like to port out of Sprint for 45 days ... and then sign up for another free year with Sprint and port back in (if their offer still exists in 45 days). Folks say you can do this after having ported out of Sprint for 45 days.

Can anyone tell me if I switch over to Tello, will it work? Or will it not work since Tello is a Sprint MVNO?

I'm a n00b when it comes to the technical attributes of cell phone companies, plans, and all that cell provider exegesis.

it's only a good deal if you happen to have a sprint compatible phone with a sprint SIM card ready. Otherwise they charge you 9.99 for a sim card. Too much hassle.
