As of Sept/Oct 2018, BASED ON REGION FreedomPop is now charging a FEE of ~$3.50 to $3.99 per line / month for "free" accounts.

You will not incur the charge (and the downgrade will not be complete) until you confirm through the pop-up window. The $20 charge puts $20 in credit onto your account. How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription by logging into your account with your email and password. If you have multiple Phone, SIMs or Hotspots under the same email account, make sure you are logged into the correct device that you want to cancel. We strive to offer a low-cost mobile phone alternative to larger carriers. After downgrading to our basic plan, a $0.01 charge can be applied, please refer to our Service Plans Terms agreement [freedompop.com] under "Active and Suspended Broadband and Phone Service".

Will I be able to keep my current FreedomPop number?

*We're sorry to say, but we've been subject to targeted abuse with users leveraging multiple accounts to aggregate additional free data. We have tried to battle the abuse by adding conditions around accounts with no data usage over several months, but unfortunately, we have been forced to limit the friends sharing program.
You can now earn 5MB of additional data for every friend that joins our service per month, up to a maximum of 50MBs per month. Both your account and your friends' account must be active. If either account has no data usage or activity, sharing data will not work.

They randomly started charging me a $4 access line fee this month.
Other than that the service has been perfect for me. I'm going on 3 years and haven't had any weird charges like other people talk about.
I am currently shopping for a phone and I have Tracfone and Freedompop as my carriers
my phones are old and I don't know what to get but I want
Android 7 and a good camera, replaceable battery and something that could switch between Tracfone and Freedompop so a removable sim card.
thing is i just looked on Tracfone and the BYOD sim cards are saying
4G LTE compatible with TMobile, Verizon, ATT
"In order to connect to the Tracfone 4G LTE network, your device must operate on Band II, IV or in certain areas, Band 12. For 3G or other 4G service, your device must operate on Band II (1900 MHz) or IV (1700/2100 MHz). GSM devices that do not support these bands may operate at 2G (EDGE) speeds."
and the Freedompop phone i have now is a Sprint Network
My coverage in my area is good for both freedompop and tracfone and i don't travel
So I don't know if I will buy this first for Tracfone then switch it to Freedompop .. or buy it for Freedompop and need to switch to Tracfone... but i would like that ability if I can
MY BUDGET IS SUPER LOW under $100
Right now Tracfone has a LG Stylo 3 for $125 which i could probably swing if I could use it on both tracfone and eventually after a year use it on Freedompop once I can get Tracfone to unlock it.
