These Dell refurbs are top of the line specs of the excellent XPS 13 line from late 2017. These will continue to be sold by Dell alongside the 9370.
My unit looked brand new, runs flawlessly, and has a fingerprint sensor that works perfectly. Even the CostCo clearance units did not have fingerprint sensors, so these are the best of the best XPS 13 specs from last year.
This is a steal for the price. Dell will continue to sell this model along side the new 9370. The advantage of this 9360 is that it has the legacy USB-A ports, a bigger 60W battery (vs 52W battery on 9370), full size SD card reader (vs microSD on 9370), and a dedicated fingerprint reader in the keypad area.
The advantage of the 9370 is improved cooling system (2 fans vs 1), slightly higher res 4k screen, improved webcam location, full 4 lane thunderbolt 3 ports (vs 2 lane on 9360), slightly improved keyboard, but with a significant jump in price.
The 9360 had both 7th gen and 8th gen CPUs. Dell updated the line without changing the model number. I own a 9360 with an 8550u.
IMHO avoid 4k panels on laptops. You can't tell it's there, it eats battery, causes slowdowns, and causes scaling issues.
I work in IT and it's always sad seeing departments spending tons on 4k laptops when working on 1080p laptops has much better performance.
Thanks for the info. Seems like a great deal if the returbs are done properly.
Here's the return policy for Adorama on Newegg: Notebooks, Netbooks, Tablets, iPads and Computers cannot be returned or exchanged once opened or unwrapped.
So basically stuck with whatever we get. Not sure how much risk with refurb.

I have this exact machine. The i8 9360 version was only around for a couple/few months around the holiday season last year before the full refresh came around (slightly smaller, different plugs). Really good system. It sold for this price new, on costco clearance earlier this year and was selling for ~$1300-1500 at costco before closeout.

Since this is a Dell Factory refurb, it will likely come in a Dell brown box with the computer in shrink wrap inside. Dell Factory refurbs are in basically new physical condition with a "refurbished" sticker on the bottom. If there are any cosmetic issues, they're usually marked as scratch-and-dent.

Thanks, very helpful. Adorama is a very reputable seller on their own, I'm wondering why they would list this on Newegg and give up some revenue to Newegg, as opposed to listing it directly on their own site. And I hope the 1 year warranty by Dell is accurate.
