Bally's, for example, has a comped rate from Monday, October 1 through Thursday, October 4th. For Bally's the daily rate including resort fee and tax comes out to a little under $40.

The left screenshot taken today are rates from just clicking the link with no account. The right screenshot taken Saturday are my rates as a (matched) Diamond member. I called Saturday and immediately booked FIVE nights at Caesars Palace - COMPED - and since I am Diamond, all resort fees are waived.
Logging off now and headed to the airport in a couple of hours! I'll revisit this thread tonight after I've checked into the room. The sacrifices I make in the name of Slickdeals research...
I skipped the massive line of unwashed masses at the Caesars Palace front desk to check in around the corner in Diamond/Seven Stars registration with my matched Diamond card. Three guests in line, three CS reps. Tried the $20 trick with the youngest blonde female rep - specifically asking if any COMPLIMENTARY upgrades were available. She smiled, set the money from between my DL and CC to the side, then did some furious pretend typing.
Her offer was an "upgrade" from Forum Tower (oldest base rooms) to Julius Tower (renovated in 2016). When I asked about Octavius or Augustus Towers (the REAL upgrades) she said those required casino host approval or an actual money charge. Did not want to press my luck since it was already a comped stay, so I took the Julius Tower room, and she kept the $20. Typing from the room now with a checkout 2:00 pm on Friday. Resort Fee costs as a matched Caesars Diamond cardholder? ZERO!
Go ahead and nominate me for the Slickdeals Hall of Fame.
Long story short - if you get a usable comped night room offer in your TR account, book it immediately. You can always cancel with no penalty, and they may be gone when you search again. Caesars Resort Fees are up to ~ $39/night, but the fees are waived for Diamond and Seven Stars cardholders. To quote Seinfeld: "They're real... and they're spectacular!"
