How so?
I was obsessed with this game for a few months when it came out. It captures that Friday the 13th vibe pretty well. Humor mixed in with gore. Jason has appropriate powers, and the counselors have a nice variety of skills. Game is difficult but not impossible, depending on the other players ability. And it's fun to get a good group together and kill Jason.
It certainly isn't a perfect game, and I haven't played in awhile, but "terrible"? Not even close. The matchmaking and hosts leaving is terrible, if that's what you mean. That alone makes the game so frustrating.
But before they were legally forced to stop providing additional content, they had added a Jason single player that's a way to practice being Jason (the bots are stupid though), and some situational single player Jason challenges (although I haven't played much of them).
It's a shame people dropped the ball on this game. It's really fun, and captures the settings of the movies very, very well. Go back and watch the movies after playing the games and notice the attention to detail.
It's one of my favorite games of the PS4 generation, and I'm sad that the lawsuit helped to halt it in its tracks.

Sadly Friday the 13th is now a dead game. Devs aren't even doing big fixes anymore. The legal issues dealing with title ownership only came about because the game was hot and making money from die hard fans.
