Lowest price on camelcamelcamel
It looks like a good tool based on feedback on Amazon.
It's corded, but that works for me.
Listed as 450 ft.lbs of torque

1) I also have the Chicago electric, it cost like $30 and lasted me since 2012. Just took a dump 2 weeks ago and it was well worth the money.

2) I dont know where you're getting that 110v isn't capable of that but volt has nothing to do with torque ratings. How can a high torque battery powered tool do 1000 ft lbs but not corded? Makes no sense.

And mcchunk1 probably was referring to Bauer not earthquake. The new Bauer corded impact IS rated at 1050 lbs at 8.5 amps and was recently on sale for $99

Almost everything sold at Harbor Freight is a HF brand. The quality scales with prices.

Drill Master brand (red/black, really cheap HF tools) are the shittiest
Then Chicago Electric (maroon color)
Then they have their higher tier brands starting with Bauer
Earthquake is their highest line and it is on par with Dewalt in terms of power and design.
Hercules is also premium brand which is on par with Dewalt
I agree with your brand assessment. If you're going Drill Master you're best to buy things with minimal moving parts and points of failure. I have a Drill Master heat gun that's worked fine the few times I've used it, but there's no way I'd consider a Drill Master power tool. I've also got one of their Earthquake air impact wrenches that's a beast. You just have to do a little research on what you're getting before you pull the trigger on it.

Someone else had already mentioned this, but there's a guy on YouTube called AvE [youtube.com] that frequently takes apart various tools, analyzes their build quality then reassembles and tests them. If you haven't checked his channel out yet, you should. He lives in Canada, so there's no HF up there, but from what I can tell the PowerFist brand tools he gets from Princess Auto are identical to what you'd find in HF. He also has tested out Bauer, Hercules, Earthquake and others.
great deal ... haven't seen it this cheap .... nice torque amount as well 450 ft.lbs of torque should be enough for most uses (Not pro) but normal diy'ers will like

Does this really deliver 200 ft/lb more than the cheapo Harbor Freight one?

I bought the new corded Earthquake brand sold at Harbor Freights. Has 1000ft lbs for think $84.99. Well worth it. Its not even comparable to the other crappy harbor freights own brand one... Things been great!
*EDIT I used the 25% off coupon.
It was Bauer n it was1050ft lbs torch.
Earthquake was the cordless i bought. which also has worked ver very well.
N they are both an upgrade over the regular HF brand tools. thanks

Yes, most circuits in your house should be rated for 15amps. Some will be 20amps but usually 15. So as long as the total current being pulled on that one circuit is less than 15 amps then you don't have to worry about tripping a breaker. For instance, all the outlets in your garage are most likely on the same circuit. If you have a newer home and live in the West, then your circuits might be kind of crazy because of the poorly trained labor force. For instance, in my house, I have one circuit that feeds a den on one side of the house and a living room on the other side of the house plus the lights in two bathrooms! Crazy.
