Generally, you don't want to mix speaker brands because the tonal differences become evident as the sound moves from one side to the other. That said, it can work, but there's no way to know without trying it out. I have an Infinity center matched with two Kenwood towers, and it works fine (Kenwoods are from Japan; couldn't find a Kenwood center to match here in the States).

I replaced my POS AJ center with this. You don't want to get the AJ center. It's a horrible speaker. This JBL is worlds better.

That's like putting $1,200 race tires on a Honda Accord. It'll work for sure, but the quality of the AJs vs JBL studio line is vastly different. I'd rather spend $200 to update the stereo speakers than add this to AJ.

That would be the best if you already have a pair of 530s. They were discontinued way back though so good luck getting a pair now. The 580 and 590 towers are still around and go on sale often if you want to go that route.
