Happy to help! This device is for people who have an OTA antennae. It allows you to use one antennae and send the channels to all sorts of devices (2 at a time). You can send the signal to tablets, mobile phones, and other televisions via the HD Homerun app. Hope that helps. It's basically a cordcutters tool that has some solid reviews and a reputation of working well. Check out some YouTube reviews and such and they make the setup process pretty clear.
Refurbished ones are $45.88 on the silicondust website. These prices have been holding steady since they launched their premium service.

I bought a refurbished unit in June and have had no issues. I think I wish I would've gone for a 4 tuner model. I wound up picking one up anyway.

Then you've never shopped and B&H or Adorama.

I have a old dual and a connect, they work fine together but would be nice to have the same. Must resist.

Debating between this and a Tablo DVR. Not sure if I need the DVR functionality. Anyone have experience with both? Also, is there any way to use this with a 3rd gen Apple TV (no app store)? Do you just need to stream from the phone?

Same here. I bought a refurb connect thinking I needed it to try out Plex DVR. Turns out Plex works with both, so now I have 4 tuners.

Have a Tablo now but would love to not pay for TV guide subscription and have more plex compatibility.

I don't think I have ever seen an online store checkout closed due to holiday.

Can you pause live TV, without DVR service, on these?

Seems like this is just an older version of the Connect Duo, is this right?

If so does the Connect Duo tune better or use less electricity? It seems like they're the same otherwise. Maybe this one is discontinued?

Looks like a good deal.

This device has no storage. For DVR functionality, in addition to this network tuner, you would need some kind of storage device on the network. It could be a Windows PC or a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device, for example. Other possibilities surely exist, I am not an expert. Also I believe most set ups providing DVR functionality will need a subscription for the TV listings/guide, which I believe is around $30 a year. Again don't quote me on that, maybe someone else can elaborate. Good luck.

i use the connect for my daily tv. its basically perfect. any issues are rare and a reboot takes care of it... but it only happens like once every few months.

I have FIOS. Could I plug this into the wall and get TV? Would I have to plug the tv box into the wall and then this into the tv box? Or is this for antenna only? I'm less interested in cutting the cord than I am in extending my TV usage onto devices that aren't actual TVs (and I would use Plex for that).

I know the DVR is subscription based, i was just wondering if they let me pause live TV on my PC without a subscription. Or is pause only a feature included with DVR subscription?
