I received this offer via email. So, refferal is not required. Existing Amex users are targeted.

You don't want to do this. Ratio is horrid. Just use them for hilton hotels. And 150k is available to all through various methods.

I second that. I looked around and most cheap hotels are around 40k a night so 4-5 nights if you were to stay there for 5 nights total (with the 1 night free).

Decent, but seems that better hotels have crazy rates.

Any ideas for better redemption value?

This card could be useful if you have Hilton Timeshares. The gold membership is a good thing but I am not sure if it's worth the annual fee.

I sure wouldn't trade UR or MR points for Hilton points, but for folks who've already run through the better signups, grabbing all 4 Amex Hilton cards and racking up >500k Hilton points (plus all the credits on the big AF card) ain't bad, especially if you leverage the buy 4 get 5th night free thing a number of times.

Even better since once you get the first 2 you can self-refer yourself for the other 2 Smilie

The best Hilton strategy is to get the no annual fee card first...then in about a year it'll ask you to upgrade to the Ascend card which will give you another miles with spend promo and then it appears (since I literally got it yesterday) you'll get the upgrade to the Aspire card with miles for spend offer as well.

But still a good deal and for those wondering, the huge points rates are usually due to it just being a popular day. You should be able to get most hotels for like 40,000 points or less per night.

Anyone know how long after gettting approved to get the gold status applied to their account? I'm traveling next weekend and hoping (in my case) to get the Diamond status on to my account before then.
