In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart. "Kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on the W4400NEX. I have been in the market for a wireless CarPlay head-unit and saw this thread yesterday on my lunch. Reading reviews online I was convinced I needed a capacitive display rather than a resistive. I was also concerned about the flip out display feeling a bit cheap, as I don't personally need a DVD/CD drive.
I stopped by Best Buy on my way home to actually try a few of these units out and found the difference resistive to capacitive to not be nearly what some make it out to be. The build quality on the W4400NEX was quite nice as well, and I didn't feel the flip out display felt cheap at all. I would give the nod to capacitive both in screen quality and responsiveness, but the resistive display in the W4400NEX would have been more than adequate for my needs.
By time I realized this the deal was dead. Congratulations to those who were able to take advantage, being under $400 for a wireless CarPlay headunit is a hell of a deal. Should have trusted my gut of "buy first ask questions later".
I really regretted missing out on this last time, and my recommendation for those of you on the fence would be to buy before this deal goes away.

How much does installers usually charge to install this?
Completely depends on your car and what adddiotnal parts are needed to make it work with all the stock stuff. Usually a couple hundred
Let me know if anyone has any questions on this unit, capabilites, features, install, and I'll be happy to answer them as best as I can (install can be tricky since it's so car dependent). Ditto what the previous person said about the screen. The resistive screen is not like the resistive screen on the LG Dare and those old smart phones you used. It's much, much better. Feels extremely close to capacitive. I never have complaints about mine.
Great deal op!

Different cars need different things. If you have an older car, you probably just need a Metra kit for a double DIN. Those are worth like $15 at most and Crutchfield will include it for free. You might also need a basic wiring harness adapter if you don't want to tap into wires and probably an antenna adapter.
Newer cars frequently require more parts. The dash kits are usually more custom, and you frequently need smart boxes like the Maestro or maybe a PAC to interface with the car. Crutchfield doesn't give those out for free but will usually give a small discount on them.
