Before you ask, this may or may not fit your car. Use this fit finder to figure it out for yourself [crutchfield.com]

However, this does fit the BMW 1 series, which the tool says it doesn't. You just need a dash kit made by metra. Great unit.

Stoked to see this deal pop up again so soon. I missed out on this during the Newegg flash sale and was super bummed. Free installation kit, free shipping and no tax on my order makes it even sweeter. Here were my thoughts in the last thread vs it's bigger brother the W8400NEX:

"Kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on the W4400NEX. I have been in the market for a wireless CarPlay head-unit and saw this thread yesterday on my lunch. Reading reviews online I was convinced I needed a capacitive display rather than a resistive. I was also concerned about the flip out display feeling a bit cheap, as I don't personally need a DVD/CD drive.

I stopped by Best Buy on my way home to actually try a few of these units out and found the difference resistive to capacitive to not be nearly what some make it out to be. The build quality on the W4400NEX was quite nice as well, and I didn't feel the flip out display felt cheap at all. I would give the nod to capacitive both in screen quality and responsiveness, but the resistive display in the W4400NEX would have been more than adequate for my needs.

By time I realized this the deal was dead. Congratulations to those who were able to take advantage, being under $400 for a wireless CarPlay headunit is a hell of a deal. Should have trusted my gut of "buy first ask questions later".

I really regretted missing out on this last time, and my recommendation for those of you on the fence would be to buy before this deal goes away.

I decided to buy. They gave me a free install kit which included a wire harness, a removal tool, and some sort of dash multikit. They also offer to add in a SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner for free after rebate (subscription extra). I checked out without the Sirius, but now that I think about it, maybe I should have gotten it and sold it.... eh, oh well. Missed opportunity. Just wish I didn't have to pay sales tax.

Completely depends on your car and what adddiotnal parts are needed to make it work with all the stock stuff. Usually a couple hundred

Easily front page. Bought this unit earlier this year open box around $467 after eBay Bucks credit and thought I was getting a deal, but this is way better. Cheaper, warranty, Crutchfield, etc. If you have an interest in installing it yourself but have little experience with Car AV, Crutchfield is the way to go. They will give you lots of help.

Let me know if anyone has any questions on this unit, capabilites, features, install, and I'll be happy to answer them as best as I can (install can be tricky since it's so car dependent). Ditto what the previous person said about the screen. The resistive screen is not like the resistive screen on the LG Dare and those old smart phones you used. It's much, much better. Feels extremely close to capacitive. I never have complaints about mine.

Better deal than the last front page since this gives free installation parts (harness etc)

Great deal op!

What installation kit is free? The only thing showing free for me are the installation instructions. The dash kit and adapters, etc. are showing $150.

Different cars need different things. If you have an older car, you probably just need a Metra kit for a double DIN. Those are worth like $15 at most and Crutchfield will include it for free. You might also need a basic wiring harness adapter if you don't want to tap into wires and probably an antenna adapter.

Newer cars frequently require more parts. The dash kits are usually more custom, and you frequently need smart boxes like the Maestro or maybe a PAC to interface with the car. Crutchfield doesn't give those out for free but will usually give a small discount on them.
