This completes my surround sound for I bought the R162 and R152 speakers but the RC263 was not on sale. Today, it is, cannot wait to get it!

Here is the description of the REFERENCE speakers:

RC263:
As the larger center channel model in the Reference Series, the RC263 is distinctive for its 3-way design. The heart of this center channel speaker is the 1" (25mm) CMMD™ high-frequency driver mated to our advanced waveguide. This combination provides seamless integration with the midrange and smooth coverage across a wide listening area. A 4" (100mm) flat-piston CMMD™ midrange with a dedicated sub-enclosure provides superior vocal and dialogue intelligibility. Dual 6.5" (165mm) CMMD™ woofers work in conjunction with the sealed enclosure to provide powerful, deep bass response that will make your music and movies come alive. The RC263's slender design and elegant details provide a rich appearance that blends well with any décor.

RC252:
Your new point of reference for high-quality sound As the smaller of the two center channel models in the Reference Series, the RC252 brings big theater sound to small spaces. The heart of this center channel speaker is the 1" (25mm) CMMD™ high-frequency driver mated to our advanced waveguide. This combination provides seamless integration with the woofers and smooth coverage across a wide listening area. Dual 5.25" (130mm) CMMD™ woofers work in conjunction with the sealed enclosure to provide superior vocal and dialogue intelligibility and powerful, deep bass response that will make your music and movies come alive. The RC252's slender design and elegant details provide a rich appearance that blends well with any décor.

R253 Tower:
This compact floorstanding speaker has a 1" (25mm) CMMD™ high-frequency driver, this provides seamless integration with the mid-range and smooth coverage across a wide listening area. A 5.25" (130mm) flat-piston CMMD™ with sub-closure provides superior vocal and dialogue intelligibility. Dual 5.25" (130mm) CMMD™ woofers work in conjunction with the tuned-port enclosure to provide powerful, deep bass response that will make your music and movies come alive. The R253's stylish design is a perfect addition to any contemporary living homespace.

Thanks for the post! I also got in on the R162 and R152 deal a few weeks ago, and was considering getting the JBL 235c as a center to go with them since people said they paired together pretty well. Glad I decided to wait for the RC263 to go on sale instead, because it didn't take too long, and the sale price $50 less than I was expecting!

Now the hard part is figuring out how to fit this thing in since it's over 9" high and I don't want to raise my TV up more than it already is. Maybe I'll mount it above the TV and angle it down a little?

Also of note, the RC252 is also on sale, for $175, but that's not much cheaper than the RC263. The RC263 is definitely worth the extra few bucks for the 6.5" drivers, unless you need the RC252 because it's a couple inches shorter.

I have the entire set with the smaller center. Great for home theater use. I didn't buy the bigger center since it wouldn't fit under my TV, but at this price I'm really tempted to buy it and try to raise my TV a few inches.

Thanks for telling me the RC252 is on sale too, I added it to the title and link.

I already have a huge 3-way speaker so it's no problem with the RC263 going under my TV. My old speaker is around 25 years old, so I thought it was time to upgrade my speakers.

Here's the obligatory "how would this pair with the Pioneer Andrew Jones floor towers"? I'm planning on probably getting the modded Philharmonica AJ center but this has my interest for this price.

OP, can you also add the Reference R253 towers at $200 each? They have been out of stock for most of this year, and I got a pair from the sale earlier this year. Phenomenal speakers, use them everyday in my HT. This is the last stock of these, so get them while you can. Also have the big Center and R162 bookshelves. Audio gems, all of them.

Hi guys, I'm not an expert on mismatching speakers systems. I'm figuring with me, I wanted to stay with Infinity. And I took a shot buying the surround sounds Infinities first and not the center but I lucked out. I do have a different brand sub and that seams fine.

Anyone know if either of these centers would pair with older Infinity Primus speakers? I have a full set of Primus, but am disappointed in the muddy dialog.

I'd stick with the Philharmonic unless you plan on upgrading the towers soon. It should be a better match.

I think it would, though you may want to upgrade the fronts too.
