No you don't. You can create a guest account but you get charged 10% more. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to give the $10 discount if you aren't a member so doesn't help on this deal.

Dumb question:
Do you have to be a member to shop online too?

I bought these and they are awesome. I saw petspy say they are small but the biggest bowls are rather big to me. I mean they aren't gigantic but they get the job done very well. The mid one is great for popcorn.

How do these compare to the Tramontina ProLine that Wirecutter recommends? Looks like the shape is the same, but how about the thickness of the steel.

I have these. The largest bowl I think qualifies as a mixing bowl, even the second biggest size. 5qts is the size of a standard kitchen aid mixer. 8 qts is obviously bigger than that. The bottoms are nice and sticky so they don't slide which is nice.

Why? I feel like glass is heavier and easier to brake?

No, there are some items you can buy without a membership but they will add a surcharge.

these are relatively small, more like containers than mixing bowls.

i was looking for a large bowl for making kimchi

guess i'll have to go to a restaurant supply for something bigger.

Sam's Club also has commercial-grade stainless mixing bowls. You won't get nearly as many for the price compared to the set in this thread, but if size is the main criteria they fit the bill.

13 qt single bowl: https://m.samsclub.com/ip/13-qt-m...rod6380604

3-pc set (3 qt, 5 qt, 8 qt): https://m.samsclub.com/ip/3-pc-mi...rod6380598

I've used both the bowls in this thread as well as the commercial ones, and I think they each serve their intended market/use well.

Alternately, if you're just looking for one big f'n bowl for kimchi, I'd recommend checking out an Asian market near you. They typically have some kitchen supplies including plastic bowls large enough to double as a kiddie pool ☺️.
