Usually the more popular sets, like some of the Star Wars ones, can be very highly priced for the number of pieces you get. This is one of the few I feel is more than worth the price tag. Can't go wrong on this one. *i would suggest pre-planning a spot to display as it is huge and you will want to show it off!
As far as the bucket wheel excavator is concerned, it's definitely a fun build and looks pretty impressive if you have the space to store it, but it's big and the playability sucks. I've got 8 of the "flagship" technic sets, and it's definitely my least favorite to show off since none of the power features really work well. Right now I have the space at the very top of my bookshelf to store it out of the way, but once I run out of space it'll probably be the first set to see ziploc bags. I'd still buy it again at $195 (I paid $215), but it's not my favorite set...
