4 Amazon stars with 1,230 reviews - Fakespot says 90% are high quality reviews.

FM transmitters have always been a pain in the ass for me, but for $10 I'm willing to give this one a swing. Like the voltmeter component, large screen, and thought of turning our 2005 model car into a hands free phone compatible vehicle.

Thanks OP

I have this (KM20 model). I paid closer to $20 last year. The transmitter is strong and the sound is crystal clear. I was shocked, honestly, because 10 years ago FM transmitters were basically trash, so I hadn't used one in a long time. Seems like they've come a long way.

It's super easy to use, it takes aux, Bluetooth, USB and microSD inputs if I'm not mistaken. Call quality isn't great, but what do you expect from a tiny mic that's several feet from your face? The charger is okay. 2.4 amps is not quick charge 3.0, but it's relatively fast. I also like the voice they used to tell you when you're connecting. The one on my BT speaker is annoying. This guy sounds cool, like he's preparing me for some smooth listening.

The hissing on mine generally means I'm getting interference. If I'm on a station that's at least 0.4 MHz (2 clicks on my radio) away from a station I can hear I'm golden. 0.2MHz is usually sufficient, unless I'm in an area that's just riddled with radio stations. Often, you'll get interference on what sounds like pure static, but isn't really.

You might also check you cable if you're using aux.

I bought the older model on the last slick deal sale. Yes it does make a hissing sound but I figured out a way to make it as best as possible. I've turned the volume all the way up on my phone then I set the Nulaxy volume down to about 75% and the car stereo up or down to control the master volume. I found that blasting the Nulaxy sound to 100% creates the hissing sound. Hope that helps anyone buying this.

Yes, that's best practice with an FM transmitter. If your car volume has to be turned way up it's going to amplify the background noise. It would do that even with terrestrial stations.

Bought one, thanks! I read many reviews that said Bluetooth keeps disconnecting. If it gets too annoying, I'll use the aux cable with it. I don't plan to use it for phone calls.

I purchased this back in Jan 2017 and just started using it this past month but I drive for about 15 minutes and then my iphone unpairs. Anyone experiencing issues like this?

Wish I could recommend it, it's extremely clear, i've never had much static issue like other bluetooth devices, but the disconnecting is frustrating!

Someone told me on here that getting a cheap Chinese one of Alibaba or AliExpress or something is a good option, since the transmitters are stronger and not FCC compliant

That would be correct, I did an entire study and constructed one for my undergrad class. FCC regulation requires all FM transmitters supplied to the US to operate within 88.1 MHz to 107.9 MHz and be underpowered, but you can technically transmit on 87.5 MHz to 108 MHz if you find one that can (outside of the US). If anyone is caught transmitting outside of this range and distance, I believe it is a pretty big criminal offense.

I recommend OP to just get an entire new headunit with basic connectivity like Bluetooth and USB. They've gotten much cheaper now that everyone wants the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto feature.

Props to you for doing that. Is there any way I can read the study?
