Why are these deals on older Pixels always the XL models? Why don't we ever see the smaller pixel on sale?

Agree 100%. Patiently waiting for the same discount to be offered on the Pixel 2 (I'm not able to find any current stock at Wal-mart, unfortunately).

Don't forget the $30 activation fee.

2 or 3 weeks ago, BB had the Pixel 2 for $349 and the XL for $549. Can't remember if it was bill credits or not, though.

Edit: No bill credits: https://slickdeals.net/f/12164500-best-buy-verizon-google-pixel-2-64gb-14-58-mo-for-24-mo-350-total-64gb-pixel-2-xl-22-91-mo-for-24-mo-550-total-no-bill-credits-new-or-existing-customers

Agree 420%! I prefer the smaller Pixel, the smaller price, and the XLs tend to have more issues. I wasn't able to score a $251 Pixel 2 from Walmart either.

Question. Say I'm staying with Verizon and I want to pay the full $449 ASAP. Do I still need to do this in a corporate store? Or can I just do it on my next bill?

Also, any way to waive the $30 activation fee?

Sorry, never been with Verizon long enough to master its system when it comes to paying off for the device (doing in in the corporate store with cash was as far as I was able to go). Hopefully, someone with more experience will be able to chime in here.

If you're staying with Verizon, why do you need to pay off the phone? I believe the only way now is through a live chat robot glitch. In July people were paying off the Pixels from Walmart through the My Verizon app until that was blocked. I believe you can't pay it off in store anymore, either. Basically Verizon got wise to what people were doing and mostly blocked it. As far as waving the activation fee, you have to beg Verizon for that. They may or may not waive it. Odds probably worse than 50/50.

I'm guessing if you cancel service, the remaining balance will just be on your final bill, and it would be paid off that way. I follow the Wal-Mart thread, but I don't recall any confirmation of this, but I don't see why it wouldn't work...

Any way to confirm this? You believe this to be the case or you actually experienced this first hand? Someone in Raleigh, NC just (early November) paid for the phone in cash (see here: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=121472227&postcount=1441). Please do not spread incorrect information, unless can substantiate your claim...

Yes, they can waive the activation fee, but you gotta sweettalk the reps. Usually by phone or by chat.
You can oay it all off online after 14-15 days (after return period expires)
