Seems to be very highly rated for the Sweetwater model. I was looking at $300 Squire vintage modified PJ-equipped P-bass. This MIM (I assume) Mustang Fender SE at just $100 more is intriguing. Shorter 30" scale compared to the P-bass...
I did end up changing out the pickups with a Seymour Duncan quarter pound set, and for my personal taste, was a huge improvement over the stock pickups. That being said, the stock pickups sound pretty good as is, and are definitely usable especially at this price point.

I had a passive squier VM SS jag for a while. I liked it best with about 80/20 to 70/30 P to J after I did a magnet mod to boost the J. If I had have kept it I might have put in a switch to cut out the J as well. I personally much preferred the neck profile on the squier bronco I had rebuilt and sold (stupid me). Of course neither bass compares very well against my gretsch junior jet as a whole package.
Okay reviews seem to indicate that the switch is a weak point. An electronics job wouldn't hurt this, and IF someone liked the neck profile and playability it would tend to be a keeper bass.
