If you can't follow directions, then you will be stuck with the T-Mobile firmware, which is out of date.
If you are gaming on a wireless network and wonder why your ping is higher than it should be.... that's why.
To use the ethernet backhaul you need to connect the ethernet cable on a LAN port of router 1 and connect it to the WAN port of router 2. It has to be done this way or the backhaul won't be used properly.
.
While inside of the RT-AC68U router's login click the AiMesh Node that you have connected. Then on the right side of the screen it will show the node and how many clients are connected to it. Click that. A new pop up appears. Click the tiny link (its hard to see at first) that says "More Config". Then you will see drop down arrows. Change "connection priority" to Ethernet. Connection type will be listed as WIRED. If it doesn't say wired that means that your ethernet cable is not connected to the WAN of router 2 (and the opposite end to the LAN of router 1).

anyways, I have 2 of these! Great range in my 2 floor 3 bedroom townhouse. Only have one hooked up. I'd "mesh" them together, but thus far, no need.

Can I change the firmware to the Asus 68u or the Merlin version? Or is it not flashable if this cellspot has been upgraded to the latest firmware? I'm reading conflicting views on Google. Thanks in advance.

I was a big fan of Merlin for many years. However, more recently, Merlin hasn't been tracking the updates in the Asus firmware, so I'd go with that.

After that, you can flash to Asus stock, Merlin, dd-wrt
