eBay has started collecting sales and use tax on behalf of sellers for items shipped to Washington state starting January 1, 2019.
Update: From their
help page on Taxes [ebay.com], looks like they are going to collect taxes for lot of other states too:

My favorite part was spending days on end getting my receipts and expenses together and getting to make sense of it all because I received over $700 on paypal throughout the year. The most expensive version of TurboTax found enough credits to essentially offset any tax owed to VT, so I got to choose between paying a fortune for tax software for selling a couple things for my friends, or paying the state hundreds of dollars for something I made zero net profit off of. Good times
