Seems like a good option if your Sprint free plan is ending.

There is also $75 cash back on e bates for opening a new line of service that can be combined. Expiration on e bates for this offer is 1/31/19.
If they can charge back if canceled within 6 months, then isn't that the minimum required for the rebate, and not 45 days?

It means you can't switch devices until after 45 days. Probably to prevent double dipping on an upgrade. You need to read carefully.

Anyone know if this would work porting a line onto an existing family plan?

They are basically giving you 6 months of free service if you use the $250 giftcard to pay for the $40 unlimited plan. I don't see how you could think that is a bad offer.

i want to pocket most of the $250 for something else, not overpay the overpriced service.

6 mths for $250? ha ha ha, sure. that means its just $40/month. impossible with Verizon

hmm; $75 (Norman E. Bates)+ $250 (VZW port in offer)+ $300 (trade in 6S) = $125+ taxes for an XR 64GB phone. My friends with four lines on ATT (higher cost, limited data) will be happy with this.
This is for Bring Your Own Device so you won't be able to get an iPhone Xr and trade in

Yes you can, as long as you are porting your number into VZ as a new line, on your existing family plan

Wait, can this be somehow combined with the Simple mobile iphone deal? If I order the SM iphone 8 for 299 plus $25 plan, and activate it, then port that number to verizon where we already have a plan I want to keep forever, and my line acces is $15 pr line, can I then add a line, even if I have to keep that line open for 6 months, so what, I'd load an old iphone 6S to it, which would cost $90, but I'd net $160 from the giftcard and 75 from Norman bates, so my iphone upgrade would be $325-160-75 = $90. Then I can later sell the iphone 6S and at least break even or come out no net cost???????

I am probably missing something important here.
