I bought three of these in the past year or so, all 3 successfully flashed to RT-AC68U and the best routers I have ever owned. The "directions" in this link appear to have evolved from the past ones that I have used. I believe what I did will not allow the "latest" firmware from ASUS but recent enough. Maybe the new method in this thread is better now, allowing updates from ASUS which I do not allow but do not miss either.
So this item is basically like a TMobile cell signal repeater? As in no TMobile plan is needed for this item, it should be able to broadcast TMobile signal out the box?

Thanks SD. Just bought another one. Planning to use it to connect my home to a second site. Or maybe I'll use it as a mesh so my garage gets better WiFi. Or maybe ...

No it's not. That's Mb. unless you are running 10 Gigabit ethernet, and have some technology that wireless networking companies would like to buy from you.

I realize my mixed use of Mb and MB in my specs is confusing, but usually internet speed is quoted in Mb, and when transferring files back and forth I look at speed in MB.
Thank you for pointing it out. "learn something new every day". Got me some good reading this morning. Lol

OOS on Chrome but was able to order with Edge. Order processing-to-confirmation took a few minutes. I prefer DD-WRT on mine, but I want to pick this one up and try to get it cross-flashed to stock firmware for once. Hope all goes well.

It's variable speed, soft start, and makes a mean Roman Ogee.

I just cancelled my T-Mobile service and switched to MintMobile. So Tmob sent me a shipping label to send back my old router, which stopped working like 2 years ago.
So that one should be up for resale soon! Keep an eye out!

No, it is something Tmobile would issue to customers who had bad reception in their home. This doesn't broadcast mobile wireless signal, just regular wifi. Since TMobile uses wifi calling the idea is stronger wifi in your house will alleviate their weak network.

It does not connect to the Tmobile network, and does not require Tmobile service. It will not give you internet if you don't have an ISP. It is just a regular modem, but branded.

No, this is special wireless router which has built in QOS setting for T-mobile wifi calling (VOIP packet priority set). One can flash regular router firmware as well if you don't need QOS setting. As routers go, it is older model, BUT is still supported (if you flash regular router firmware) and also supports Mesh network if one setup the router correctly.
It seem far better than my FIOS gateway router since my FIOS gateway router "loses" 5Ghz band frequently - devices think it is connected, but router won't route packets unless devices re-cycle the connection. 2.4Ghz works rock solid. Now, this router, both bands works well AND it has built in USB 3.0 NAS support which is handy as I just connect my external hard drive and it support DLNA and SMB.

EDIT: Ordered one, had to use Internet Explorer (Chrome did not work), got the "We will contact you if any issues" e-mail. We will see.

Hopefully this isn't against the rules or anything, but I bought a few new during a deal a year ago. I never got to setting it up the mesh and likely never will. I have two untouched that I would gladly part with for $80 (total) if you are willing to meet in central Maryland. DM if interested. I could potentially ship as well, but the cost to ship would be on the buyer.

Edit - They are confirmed new. I found the Newegg invoice from last January.

Thanks,
Cody
