I really like the looks of their $399 red tool chest...

http://www.harborfreight.com/hand...67831.html

I see it is $359 at the moment but shipping kills the deal. Does anyone know if the local shops ever sell it for $359? Or have you seen it even lower than that? I know the 20% off coupons don't work on tool chests unfortunately.

I'm torn between this tool chest and getting a set of similar ball-bearing Craftmans for about $319.
i was just at HFT today and saw that 26" top+bottom combo along with their 44" roller and the 56" roller. Honestly, I was disappointed with the 56", but I was rather impressed with the 26" top+bottom combo. I like the shallow drawers it has on both the top and bottom chest. I wish the made the same format in the wider chests. If you're storing automotive repair tools, I would definitely go with the 26". The 44" roll-away chest is nice too, but it has too many deeper drawers.

The 26" top+bottom combo has gone on sale with coupon for $289.99 just earlier this month. I would wait for that to come around again or try to find that coupon. I'm attaching the expired coupon just FYI.

Any experiences with their manifold gauge set?

Repair shop wants far too much, might try it myself.

The A/C gauges were WAY cheaper a few months ago (which makes sense...). People say they sometimes leak.

You can rent them autozone for free, though.

This manifold with gauges is for residential/commercial systems, not automotive. Automotive HVAC systems use different fittings. I somehow doubt that Autozone rents A/C gauges for non-automotive applications.

Your wrong there, I purchased these last year and they worked great on refilling my cars system after I added a new compressor, dryer and condenser. Worked great, still great this year.

Yes, worked great for me, just make sure you get yourself a new dryer if you need to open up your system for a new part. Please make sure you take it to a shop if you have any refrigerant left, its really bad stuff to vent, and you're sure to find a shop to empty it for a nominal charge. Really this should be free, like taking your oil to the auto parts store.

Anyone know what the best deal is on the new style chainsaw sharpener? 68221 model? Used to have the old orange one usually had coupons for 19.99... anyone have a coupon for the new redish one?
I don't know about the best deal but there's a bunch of $29.99 and at least 1 $27.99 coupon (which I got in a paper 1 or 2 weeks ago) expiring 8/22/12

Does Harbor Freight price match themselves with their "one year price guarantee"? They only seem to mention "competitor" prices (which of course is BS for 98% of the items there, since there is no competitor for "chicago electric" tools).

If I buy something and then it goes on sale in two months, can I hassle them and get the difference refunded? Has anyone done this with a coupon? Used a 20% to buy something at say $100 and then walked back in later after the price has dropped to $80.

Has there been any coupons as of late for the SDS drill Item #97743?

or should I just toss a 20%'er on top of the $80 price tag to bring it down to $64?

I don't know if I've ever seen a coupon for that item (I work at HF). I can flip through the flyers we're currently giving out for upcoming sales next time I'm there to see if it's going to get a price drop soon, if you don't already have them. This includes the June SWS.

I also have a crapton of HF flyers from the past few weeks of papers that I'd be more than happy to mail to someone. I don't have a scanner & can't quite bring myself to throw them away, but have no use for all these coupons.

I can't say for the quality of the HFT boxes but almost two months ago I picked up a Craftsman top chest (# 00962020000 ) for ~$100 (regularly ~$160). For the price, it seems decent, internal lock system, ball bearing slides and recessed side handles. All dedicated grip areas (drawer front and side handles) are extruded aluminium. I certainly like the drawer sizes (except possibly the bottom drawer depth which a 4" would be nicer). The drawers all have detents to prevent them from rolling open on a small incline. The bottom 3 drawers have enough sideways play in the slides that if you push on one side, you won't attach both detents. My goals with this were a beginner chest (for drawers/organisation rather than my 19" mechanics box) and being able to cart a bunch of tools down into an automotive you-pull-it yard (with HFT's #95061 and the tires left soft intentionally for easier rolling over bumps). The slides and possibly the recessed (rather than collapsible) handles are the main disadvantages I see but it's a lot smoother than the non-ball bearing chests you normally see at the price I bought it.

I usually check the Sunday paper for HFT coupons. Where did you see this one for $289? Sunday paper? Magazine? Some sort of direct mail from HFT?

Thanks!
