When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Those rat-bastards! haha Last thing I got was a $10 Target gc. I wanted to go for the free dreft or something.

We are contemplating moving there. For what we paid for our 2 bedroom condo in North Jersey we could be in a real house with a backyard and everything. I want my son to be able to have a yard to play in some day and I don't foresee that happening in New Jersey Frown
Phoenix area if not where you want to move to if you want a real yard laugh out loud Enjoy the water bills if you want real grass...

I don't particularly care about the grass per say, just the space to run around and have fun. We live in the quasi-ghetto Smilie We live about 3 miles from the acutal ghetto laugh out loud

No, but I visit there as much as I can and I do plan on moving there one day!!! Must. escape. the. midwest!!!
Lived in Scottsdale back in the late '90s and hated it. The area was ok, but I couldn't stand the desolate look that was all around. The yards are dirt and gravel!! shake head I was so used to lush greenery (Florida/North Carolina) that living there was just not my cup of tea. The mountains were beautiful, though (could see them out of every window in my apartment).

I am from Arizona and LOVE it!! Wish I was there now. But since my DH is in the Army we now go where they tell us to. We will be back there once he retires (12 more years).

I am from southwestern arizona but got my masters from Arizona State in Phoenix. Once you get used to the heat it is great! The heat is nothing like the muggy weather in the south, we are in TX now and I would love to trade the muggy heat for the dry heat! Tons of things to do and see. One of my favorite places in the world is Sedona (north of phx).

Right now is a GREAT time to move to Phx - housing prices have fallen hard. A friend of ours bought a house in 2004 for over $500,000 and it is now worth about $380,000 - you can get some great deals in all price ranges.

Can you tell I miss AZ?? Big Grin
hug AZ is definitely a different place to be. I think I would enjoy visiting there on vacation, but not living there. I hiked up a small mtn/hill in Phoenix (Camelback? Can't remember.) and was apalled at the amount of smog that was in the air - the air was brownish closer to the ground. I've got a pic of that somewhere... I did see, however, some beautiful night scenery with stars everywhere and comets whizz-ing by. It was pretty cool. I traveled all throughout AZ (Painted Desert, Flagstaff, etc.) on a road trip and absolutely LOVED Sedona. Very pretty place - and pretty relaxing too! The heat is very different from FL, as you say - no humidity!! I remember being so shocked to see gum liquefying on the sidewalk when the temps were 120+ and not feeling very hot myself. Smilie

I think So. Cal would be the nicest place to live, but I'm honestly too afraid of earthquakes, plus it's just as expensive, if not more so, than the NYC metro area. I like NJ, but seriously, if it weren't for coupons (I heart coupons too!), there's no way we'd be getting by right now. I'm guessing AZ looks pretty much like NJ in the winter, except with cactuses and lots of heat Smilie I dunno, I think we're going to have a take a trip out west to see what the rest of this great country is like. Plus, wherever we end up, there's has to be a CVS and Target (preferably a super Target heart)! Big Grin

I am thinking of taking a 2+ hour drive to the nearest SuperT to get some of that cheap/free meat. Would that be crazy? DF said that is sounds good to him, especially since neither of us are working much is super tight right now!

Ariel....I could have sworn there was a Super T out your way but when I researched it I guess the closest 1 is in the central Valley....boo!

All this talk about warm climates and good humidity for the hair has got me wanting to move to Florida or California to. I am jealous of your location thrifty. I'm also not so sure about Arizona, as others have mentioned you need a lot of water to have a lush green yard. I have been there for a visit and it is very nice though. I have visited Florida to, but I have never been to California.

All this talk about meat doesn't really effect me so much, as my daughter and I pretty much don't eat any. My husband and son do eat meat still, but I don't have to cook very much, since it is only the two of them. My daughter will eat some meat in dishes, but neither her or I will eat a hamburger, a steak or pork by itself. We will eat some fish and a little chicken however. So the meat sales aren't really so exciting for me. Also I am afraid and somewhat disgusted to eat meat past its date on the package, even if it has been frozen. I pretty much buy any meat I cook for the family fresh. I can always find a deal on meat at one of the local stores from week to week, as we have a lot of stores to choose from.

*snip*.
FL is NOT good for the hair. If your hair is curly, you end up looking like cotton candy head, if it's straight, it looks all stringy and sweaty. Two very sexy looks I must admit Girly

Florida = constant humidity = bad hair, always
CA = MUCH less humidity = better hair
AZ = NO humidity = best hair!

Plus, I don't know what you guys think about this, but Arizona (at least the Phoenix, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale area) just looks so clean to me. Tucson, forget it - that didn't even seem like AZ to me - but the valley area, just looks so clean. Maybe it's because it gets so hot that everything just burns up and disappears, but still. I've been there when it's 120, in a convertible, top down, and never really felt "hot". Got back home (Chicagoland) to 80 degrees with humidity and wanted to die from "heat". I'll take the AZ dry heat anyday! Besides, you don't have to mow stone and cactus!!! LOL!!

I'm headed out your way today Thrifty - will be at "the mall" some time this afternoon! Then it's back downtown for work for the rest of the week and back home to the snow in a few days.
