This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

j/k hug I just wish I had STs and that many reg Ts around me.

I think we need a new term for those of us who don't have Super Targets = "Super Jealous" or SJs laugh out loud

Wave Just popping in to say hi. I think the little man is going to want to eat any minute now, but I missed you all. . .

As Teri mentioned, I don't post much anymore but I'm around and reading this thread almost always brings a smile to my sleep-deprived face. Big Grin

If I did post about my days, it would go something like this:

Hour 1: feed the boy
Hour 2: change the boy/feed myself/wash myself and/or the boy
Hour 3: try to sleep, or watch tv. Try not to yell at DH for being at work and not here to help me. Wink

Repeat. Smilie I guess this won't last forever, but wow!! Is it ever tiring. My hats off to all of you with multiple broods; I don't know how you do it.

Congrats to mama2cole!! woot

And congrats to jimmywalt as well! Adoption is a beautiful thing; you are making a young one's life better.

To all of you who want to move to AZ, you should move here instead. Big Grin Seriously, we have lower COL, way better weather (unless you actually LIKE 120 degree heat), and pretty much no competition for getting deals since no one uses Qs here. We don't have CVS, but (according to the paper) they are finally coming here this year.

Bad side: terrible Q inserts, no SuperT.

You CAN afford Phoenix!! If you can afford to live anywhere, you CAN afford Phoenix! Especially if you buy right now - and don't think even for one moment that you would "stand out". With the weather as amazing as it is, there are ample bikers down there and tatoos are their middle name - sounds like you'd blend right in Wink .

San Francisco might be a good fit... it's pretty hard to stand out there Wink Or Venice in So CA - weather is better than SF and it would probably be a little less expensive.
I visited CA/Venice beach once like 13 yr ago and heartheartheart it but could NEVER afford CA -period-.

Don't forget scorpions in AZ... laugh out loud Scary walking out to your car and seeing one of those on the side of your place! Also had an infestation of little lizard like things one winter - geckos I think they were. My cat loved them...

AZ is a circus - a melting pot of everything weird in this world... but if you want to live in Scottsdale, hope you're willing to have bleach blonde hair and wear the short short short skirts laugh out loud Also be prepared to learn Spanish fast - minorities outnumber the Caucasians in Phoenix area.
:
I have tried and tried to learn spanish...have a book on cd for beginner/traveler spanish. All I can say is that I hope the kids are picking it up.

My GF lives in HI for 5 yrs now. She is a teacher barely makes 450 a week and her rent is $650...her portion...the other 2 girls pay the same amount for a 2 bdrm condo!!!!!
Plus you would be SHOCKED at the sh!t that happens...most natives actually live 4 generations to a small run down house because they cant afford it....Im talk grammy and gramps(2), there 3 kids and thier 3 wives (6)and each of those 3 couples 2-3 kids and thier kids (12)!!! thats twenty peeps all in one house. of course this is a BIG example but it is for real.

My FIL stayedd on the big island for 2 yrs w/ a buddy who owns a coffee and mac nut farm...he lived in a real shack...no running water and only 3 walls, the kitchen was in the main house where the buddy lives w/ his fam..."pickers" make about $8-$11 per hundred pound bag!!!!!

Plus, I don't know what you guys think about this, but Arizona (at least the Phoenix, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale area) just looks so clean to me. Tucson, forget it - that didn't even seem like AZ to me - but the valley area, just looks so clean. snip .
Have to agree with you on Tucson - I have never really cared for it there although the weather is about 10 degrees cooler. I think it is the road system - makes absolutely no sense!

DH and I are a bit...how do you say..."different", we aren't religious - .

We are looking for a place to live the rest of our lives (were only 32) that we "fit in" - the total oppiste of my life philosophy but I really hate it here in Raleigh, NC....We thought that we were coming to a 'yankee-ified' area of the south but it really isn't...
I think just about anyone would fit in in Phx! Of course you had to say something about NC - we are due to move to Ft Bragg (45 min away from Raleigh) in June Frown

You are doing great if you are making time to wash yourself! A lot of new moms get so obsessed with taking care of the kid you don't make enough time to brush teeth, etc and that wears on you. Make sure to carve out some time each day for a shower, brush hair, etc and it will be better for you in the long run.

Ditto on the multiples, no way I'd have enough patience, time or money!

I agree with DS - If you're making time to wash yourself, you're off to a good start. It will get better/easier, but having a newborn is tough (much harder than I ever expected it to be, at least Wink )

hug We miss you and are thinking about you though!

I can tell you, I felt like a much better mom before I had another kiddo. Actually that reminds me of a book I read a bit back. It was called something like "I was a better mom before I had kids". I cried almost the whole way through the book because I always thought that I'd be so much more of a patient, calm, and sane mom than I turned out to be - granted it could have also been the fact that I just had a baby and had crazy hormones running through me too. I just hope that the fact that my kids have each other makes up for any decrease in my attention/sanity/patience that they see.

Hawaii is beautiful (been there twice with DH, and my sister used to live there), but the natives do not live as well as you would think. It's kinda sad. We were talking with a bunch of people one day while looking over the water and watching dolphins jumping in the distance and the natives were saying that the area was just infested with drugs (Ice). What else are the kids going to do? They were saying...it's an island! It's a serious problem (hence Dog the Bounty Hunter...). And, yes on the homeless people - way too many!! You will usually find them in the parks. Also, huge extended families do live in one house/shack usually...It's really expensive to live there!

I read a great book called "Smotherhood". [alambauthor.com]

I loved it. I'm no reader but this is a book you can put down and pick back up. It's broken up into tons of topics and real life stories. It made me feel great!
