This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

My total was more than I had hoped, so I went did a return on some items. The CS told me that the system would not allow him to credit my mastercared (original form of payment). So he had to process the return on a GC. I really want it credit to my mastercard. Anyone have any reasons why? Should I have insisted since that should be their policy?

I think someone was saying that you had to wait a day or two before doing returns? The transactions do not automatically go into their system until overnight (or something like that) and so they cannot give you your $ back unless it's on a GC immediately after your transaction. I think there was some talk on the Deals thread about this and the recommendation was given to wait a couple of days before you do your return in order to credit back in the original form of payment. HTH.

I did that 2 weeks ago. It was overtaking me and I was afraid my children would find me buried under a stack of inserts from 2007 EEK!

I rarely clip coupons. I use big binder clips and bind each week, write the date in Marker across the top. For the most part, anytime a deal is posted, the insert date is posted too, so I just clip them then. I do this because I am NOT a good coupon organizer. I admire the people that have the big notebooks with the baseball card sleeves...I just know I would never keep that up.
Yeah I've tried pretty much every method and just cannot keep up laugh out loud

Yeah, me too. I get so overwhelmed every couple of weeks because of stacks of inserts and coupons overflowing everywhere!! I'm planning on a new method to see if I can stay on top of it - I'll be using two accordian style check sized files (with the alphabet) and keeping the next two months coupons in them in alphabetical order (one file will be May, the second will be June). And pitch all of the others that are beyond those dates into a plastic container. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with this method. Dontknow

All this talk about getting organized and throwing things out got me inspired. I threw out a bunch of inserts and cleaned out the pantry and basement storage.

I am guilty sometimes of grabbing a marinade or dressing and it might not be the one with the shortest expiration (then I end up with expired stuff). I look like a crazy OCD person now - all of my dressings now have the exp date written in black sharpie on the top of the cap - same thing with marinades and other things with tiny exp dates printed on the bottle somewhere. I hope this will help me use things in the best order.
