Appealing price given the specs, Never heard of the brand though. Does anyone have experience with this brand or can tell how it compares with something like Huawei Matebook? I once checked the Huawei in a Microsoft store and it was very cheaply made. The keyboard and the whole body was so flimsy compared to a cheap Dell or Acer.

I bought a 8in Winbook tablet for $100 couple years ago. To this day, it still works perfectly.

Can't really say much about laptop, but their tablet was really nice for the price.

I bought the Huawei matebook during the Walmart clearance and was very impressed. It didn't seem cheaply made especially when compared to Acer. Can't say as much about Dell though

To anyone that's curious, Winbook is essentially Microcenter's house brand. Right up there with Inland.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal at all for a entry Windows 2-1. Wondering about battery life though. Just bit on an Acer 14 Chromebook 2-1. Liked the idea of a 10 hour battery life, but would've seriously considered this if it was available last week,

From William H. Bowden (Winbook):
<< I work at WinBook. So, unless I've imagined a staff and section of our facility that
does not exist then I don't know what to say..
Trust me, we manufacture these computers, we even design them.
I think this whole discussion turns on how you define the word
"manufacture". There are VERY few laptop companies that manufacturer
the entire device - IBM comes to mind, but even they don't make
everything that goes into a ThinkPad (they buy, for example,
microprocessors from Intel).
I'd describe WinBook as an custom assembler: they design the machine
and have the various components manufactured by outside vendors
(Toshiba for disk drives, Hitachi and others for displays, Lexmark for
keyboards, etc.). Then WinBook takes these subassemblies and assembles
the completed laptop.
In some ways this is better than trying to manufacture the entire
thing yourself, since you can pick and choose the best in each
component (and not be stuck using parts from other divisions of your
company).
I've owned 2 WinBooks personally (still own the XP5 that I'm typing
this posting on), and the company I used to work for has nearly 30
WinBooks in use by field engineers since 1994 with only 1 (ONE)
failure. I've found the WinBooks to be excellent machines and have
recommended then to may people. Look at any of the PC magazines:
hardly a month goes by the WinBook doesn't have a model or more in the
top of the heap.>>
