These are great ratchets and will save a flat rate mechanic a ton of money as they are exact copies of the Matco brand and Platinum and Mountain

This set skips 9 and 11 mm sizes. For this money I bought a similar set on Amazon that does not skip sizes, TEKTON WRN77164 Extra Long Flex-Head Ratcheting Box End Wrench Set with Store and Go Keeper, Metric, 8 mm - 19 mm, 6-Piece: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Although Amazon is currently out of stock, and the price is temporarily up from the usual $117.

The Tekton happen to be the non-reversible type without the direction selector and are 6 point and only 72 tooth and don't have the extended socket on one side. At the end of the day they are drastically different in comparison and sold out on Amazon and Tekton website.

I personally recommend both for different applications or personal preferences.

You flip it to go the other direction, since it's symmetrical. Six points is better than 12 points, because it grabs the fastener stronger. 72 vs. 90 teeth is only a slight improvement. Yes, I would get both kind (but not the Carlyle) if I were a pro mechanic, but I would choose the Tekton over the Carlyle set. There is no excuse for skipping sizes.

I agree the extended socket is key, the flush is not as useful. Anyone comment on the quality of these? There's another brand on Amazon for same price... probably same jus rebranded. I'd rather have 6 pt though...guess I'll hold off on these

I bought these identical from SK Tools about 12 years ago. I got well over $100k in tools and these are the go-to wrenches every time. Major time saver. Plus they all still work as-new, even the 8/10mm with many high-torque situations.

These my main go to tools for car repair. I've handled so many hard to reach and high torque situations only these tools. These have very tight tolerance spline drive which which grips better than a typical 12 point. As long as the head is on flush, bolt round off is basically a non issue.

Both the Napa and Tekton are very high quality sets, they are a bit overkill for the average backyard mechanic. I have done quite a bit of auto work and have found that a ratcheting flat box end set of good quality like Gearwrench or the earlier made in USA Craftsman work very well with a cheater bar and costs half the price at like $60 or less on sale. Sometimes that are more useful since at times there is just no room for an extended socket.
