If you have hard surfaces you may also want to buy this

The initial D3 firmware was indeed buggy. The most recent update will give you no go lines and is much better.
The most irritating aspect of the D3 is no side brush. The side brush looks pathetic, but is actually very effective on hard surfaces.
EDIT: Adding comments here:
All D3, D4, D5, D6, and D7 Neatos including this have compatible:
Batteries
Brushes
Filters
The more expensive models include higher capacity batteries, better brushes, and better filters, but these can be purchased separately.
I suggest getting a higher capacity battery because the D3 only has 60min of runtime, and that's only good for about 500sq/ft or so. The battery will degrade faster by being drained so frequently and then recharged while warm.
The spiral brush is very effective and doesn't collect hair like the bristle brushes. Instead most hair will go into the bin. It's very quiet too, and adds maybe 5min of runtime since it's more efficient.
A filter with large pleats will flow more air for longer, giving more suction power and possibly helping to extend battery runtime.
The D3 lacks side brush, multiple floor plans, remote control, and zone cleaning (picking 1 room to clean rather than whole house).

Don't replace the filter so often, simply blow it off after every use.
There was 1 guy that reported a bad experience, and that was due to older firmware. They just made a major update in December that vastly improves functionality and reliability. BTW, it uses the same logic as the more expensive models, so buying a more expensive one won't change the cleaning behavior.

This is the dumbest of all connected Smartvacs that Neato makes right now. We had a Neato 6 years ago, no connectivity to Smartphone or Internet. Other than that, it worked great. The on unit buttons finally capped out and would cost most to repair than buy a new D3, so we did that. The thing would never clean more than 300 Sq feet, was extremely inefficient at covering the area, never mapped properly, majority of times never found way to base, and overall a big step down from the prior Gen.
I'd highly recommend getting a D5 or D6. D7 is a bit of a ripoff unless you really need multizone/floor mapping. The inclusion of 5G WiFi support in that model is nonsensical and just marketing fluff to drive up the price tag. They say you can communicate with the bot faster - really? And but why? AND 5G coverage is less than 2.4, so connecting 802.11ac is a worse decision than b/g/n.
Again - avoid the D3, and go with D5 or D6.
My D3 has full functionality. The new update to the app allows the D3 to function exactly as the higher models. The only difference now is side brush (D3 doesnt have one), battery, roller and filter...all which can be swapped.
Anyone has experience using it with carpet and tiles?

Can you easily remove the two smaller wheels near the brush? Not the two big wheels
It'll be a pain trying to remove pet hair from it.

Simply not true. No zones. One floorplan. Battery life sucks compared to our d7. Get the d5 or d7

I posted a brush that will be very low maintenance with pet hair on hard surfaces.
