Just fyi there is some misinformation spread out there about naturally occurring substances. It's considered safe things like lead between 2-4ppm (parts per million), and and the specific toothpaste that was tested was the children's toothpaste it was .240 ppm. Which is incredibly small by the way, I can guarantee 90% of the things you're eating has about 50 times that of lead in it and you don't even have a clue. I think it's better to be educated instead of listening to fearmonger's.

Quick Google search:

Independent testing has found trace amounts of lead (ranging from 21 to 421 ppb) in several Tom's of Maine products, including children's and toddler toothpastes. This prompted a class-action lawsuit. While the detected levels are legal under current FDA cosmetic standards, they exceed limits recommended by some pediatric safety advocates.

Just a caution against Toms. Toms was found to have lead in it recently. It also is beyond the fda's abrasivity scale and makes people very sensitive teeth. Also lacking fluoride removes an important use case of a toothpaste. I recommend against non fluoride tp. the oils in it are good though. oils coat the teeth so can help.
