You are correct! We have edited the information. Out of the box, the Verizon Pixel 3 versions were locked to Verizon, but would unlock as soon as they were turned on with Verizon service. This does not apply for these and they are in fact unlocked. Thank you for pointing this out.

It's because Verizon is the only carrier selling these outside. The unlocked version is sold only by Google store and I don't think anyone else is authorized to sell it because of the agreement with Verizon.

As DailySteals mentioned above, the Verizon version works with any carrier just like the Pixels sold by Google do but since the bootloader is locked you can't load a custom ROM if that's your thing. The phones are identical in every way (no Verizon bloatware or flash screen) except for the locked bootloader.

No, updates for the Verizon version are the same as the regular version. The only difference is Verizon bootloader is locked and if Verizon SIM card is detected, MyVerizon app will install automatically.
