These will work with MSI motherboards that have the JRAINBOW1 connection on the board.
The JRAINBOW1 is the MSI version of the ASUS '5v add header'

This does not negate the fact you have a high probability of receiving several fans that may not work or the controller does not work. Be prepared to deal with customer service. Maybe do a open case connection test first. I've read also that jiggling the fan connection wires may help. Beware of bent pins. SO JUST BE AWARE when installing this set of gear. /Dylan
I have these, you don't have to connect to the motherboard as others have stated. They can be controlled through the control box via a remote. You can also control fan speeds with the remote. Also, if you want to connect to the motherboard, it will only work with a 3-pin 5V connection as stated. It doesn't matter if you have an Asus board. I have an Asus board but it doesn't have a 3-pin connection, just a 4-pin 12V connection. My Asus board is a brand new X470 and does not have a 3-pin connector.

Please Note: The Addressable RGB Light function MUST BE work with an Addressable RGB(+5V, 3-pin) capable motherboard or an Addressable RGB(+5V, 3-pin) controller.

If you have an Asus motherboard they are compatible with aura sync and you should have the 5v addressable.
Well that is a big "if" since unfortunately I have the MSI gaming plus which is all 4 pin 12Vs.
You don't have an Asus motherboard so what he said doesn't apply to you. Only newer boards will be compatible in general though obviously.
Edit: Seriously thumbs down for pointing out he doesn't even have an Asus board, nice If you can't look in your manual or use google to get an answer to this just go buy a premade computer.
I bought a simple SATA to RGB Pin controller from Amazon for $12 to power and control the RGB fans in my daughter's CoolerMaster Masterbox Lite 5 RGB case. Of course you have to open the case to make changes, but I knew that going into it. It has a board from 2008 - for now.
XSPC RGB Controller (4-Pin), SATA Power
Actually... since this has a remote you could buy one of those RGB light strips from Walmart for $4.38 and somehow get the USB outside of the case and plug it into your motherboard... just a thought.

How long is this led strip from Walmart? looking for strip that work with these controllers.
I bought these fans. instructions are horrible but the lights are good and I think the fan push enough air in. I think it only have 2 fan speed on the fan controller. slow and fast. to me it wasn't that loud. but I had a case without fan and when I put the fan in it dropped 5 degrees on idle. but trying to find light strip that can connect to their controller. don't have Asus motherboard so can't test with aura sync.
The Corsair fans are 4 pin PWM controllable where these fans are 3 pin and the fan speed cant be adjusted via software or via BIOS. They run a constant 1200 RPM (the max the Corsair fans run) all the time at about 16 dBA and 38 CFM. So they are quiet fans but dont move a lot of air. Same can be said about the Corsair fans.
The fan speed and RGB can be adjusted with the provided fan controller/remote so they actually perform similarly to the Corsair fans. Think of these as the knockoff Corsair fans.

These are shit compared to the corsairs. That's why they are 25% of the price.
thank you! i should have snatched up the corsairs yesterday. damn.
