If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull
Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

If i changed my product from sapphire to chase freedom and got my card in the mail, am I good to apply to the sapphire again? Or do I need to wait until the next billing period.
It needs to be at least 48 months since your last Sapphire welcome bonus and at least 1 week from when you product changed to Freedom.

It seems they keep moving the goal post for those who signed up for the Sapphire Reserve Cards when they first came out. Every year they add another 12 months to the waiting period for the new card holder bonus.

Yeah it's almost like they want long term customers instead of churners or something

The waiting period was originally 24 months after receiving the bonus. Then, ~ 1 year ago, they made a single change, increasing it from 24 months to 48 months.

My mistake, for some reason I thought it had been changed to 36 months and then 48.
Hi,
I am considering getting a 3rd credit card. Currently I have a discover student and a blue cash everyday card. I have very good credit score. I am expecting an expenditure of nearly $4k in next couple months. Can anyone suggest me which credit card I should get? I was thinking of chase saphire preferred but its $95 annual fee is repelling me. What about capital one venture? They waive annual at the first year.
Didn't see this in other comments but is there a way to go annual fee free without having to spend a boatload?
1) Wait around and hope that Chase brings back a waived 1st year signup offer, or
2) Redeem 9,500 points of your bonus for a $95 statement credit, and pretend that you really signed up for the old standard offer of 50k points + waived 1st year annual fee.

Stop being afraid of annual fees.
Instead, do the math and see if the fee is profitable to pay or not.
For some cards it is (especially for folks who travel any significant amount- and especially for at least the first year of the card), for others it's not.
A few examples-
We have 2 different IHG cards with a $49 and $89 AF respectively- but you get 1 free IHG night each year for paying it- and typically hotel rooms cost more than $49 and $89, so that's profitable to keep each year as long as we travel enough to use those 2 free nights.
We have a Hilton Amex with a $450 annual fee. It comes with a $250 per calendar year airline credit (you can double dip this first year for one annual fee), and a $250 per membership year Hilton Resort credit (which you can use for room rates too). We also get 1 free weekend night at any Hilton. So again as long as we actually use all those credits, or even most plus the free night, we turn a profit on the card. Added bonus you get Diamond status at Hilton which can get you free upgrades, free breakfasts, etc....
We have a $495 a year Citi Prestige card. It comes with a $250 per calendar year airline credit... they also reimburse you for the 4th night of any hotel stay you book using Citis travel portal (regardless of booking with cash or points) twice per calendar year- again it's not hard to get at least a small profit out of that using the 4th night free benefit a few times per membership year. We also get free airport lounge access, some free meals at some airport restaurants, a $100 global entry credit, and Citis 2 year extended warranty benefit.... (plus 5x points on restaurants and airfare)
Note all of these don't even mention the signup bonuses (usually at least $500 in value itself) meaning ALL of them are HIGHLY profitable in at least the first year.
All that said- if you don't travel and you are just looking for straight cash... I think the Chase Ink Business Preferred is the most valuable current signup- 80,000 chase points ($800 straight cash, or more if used for travel) for 5k in spend in 3 months.
Yes there's a $95 fee. $800 minus $95 is still $705 straight profit (not to mention the additional $50-150 in points you will get for making the 5k spend)
Not going to read through 57 pages of posts, but my wife's "My Credit Journey" page through Chase had a "Special Offer" for this card at 70k, as opposed to 60k, so we signed up. It's worth checking. Mine did not have it.

It's only a slick deal if it's a fresh opportunity to harvest a new sign up bonus. Some of us are running out of fresh opportunities.
The CO Savor card is better at $500 for $3k and fee waived for first year if you haven't done it yet.
It's also better to do the Ink business cards because they don't add to your 5/24 count.
CO lowered it to $300
