If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull
Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

My parents have had the Chase Sapphire (the simple no-AF one) since 2013. They do not have any other Chase CC. Which Freedom is better to PC to (for every-day use)? CF vs. CFU. After PC, how long should they wait before re-applying for the CSP for the 60k SUB? I'm hoping to help them maximize their reward without complicating it too much for them. Thanks!
Looking for a new credit card... can any1 point me in the direction to see what the best use of these bonus points is? Looking to go to hawaii with my wife and we live near nyc
60k points can be transferred to hyatt on 1:1 ratio and Hyatt Palace in Honolulu is 12k Points per night or Hyatt regency is 20k points per night. This can get you 5 nights at Hyatt Palace BUT in that case I would recommend you getting hyatt card and use these points to redeem on southwest.
You can also transfer to United to redeem for a Hawaii ticket but I checked and they are 22.5k points per ticket in economy one way.
I like these points to transfer to hyatt/southwest because that gives you best redemption.
This isn't a bad deal, but yes, most people are going to be better served getting the CSR instead of the CSP. The rule now is 48 months. And there is never going to be another CSR signup 'special'.
CSP and CSR bonuses are equivalent only if you spend them through the UR portal (which is one of the easiest ways to spend them?). But if you can profitably transfer them to a partner, then the larger raw number of point from the CSP could be worth more.
The other major benefits of CSR are situational:
Airport lounge access, if you value that kind of thing. Not everyone does.
Extra 1x points on restaurant spending will pay off if you spend $5500 per year on restaurants.
Global entry / TSA PreCheck reimbursement if you don't already have it, or are up for renewal during the year.
Did I miss any?
Some say the CSP is easier to get approved for. I don't know if that's true or not. Both are subject to the 5/24 rule for sure.

CSR also has:
$28 per person free credit, unlimited uses (though max 2 people per place per day) for a few dozen airport restaurants
Better/higher rental car insurance (only matters if renting something exotic or expensive
Free roadside assistance 4 times a year
Better trip delay insurance (kicks in after 6 hours instead of 12)
Higher accident travel insurance
Much higher per item purchase protection

Hyatt transfer is the best value for hotel transfers...beating 2 cents a point isn't hard... but SW transfers are not though if you have a CSR.
Transferring to SW usually gets you about 1.4-1.5 cents per point.
Using the chase portal gets you 1.5 cents and earns miles since it's a cash booking as far as SW is concerned
The highest value airline transfers will be for biz/first class type tickets on other airlines than SW...those can often push 4-6 cents a point or more.
Extra 1x points on restaurant spending will pay off if you spend $5500 per year on restaurants.
To correct myself, it's extra 1x on restaurant and travel spending. Depending on your income, habits, family size, taste, etc. it might be relatively easy to spend $5500 per year on travel.
So I am about to pay off the last of my student loan ($12,000). I have the cash to do so but I wanted to use a couple of credit cards to get some rewards and cash back. Is this a good card to use for this purpose? Is there a better card to use?

As long as you have the method to get from your credit card to a form of payment that your loan servicer will accept figured out, sure. The bonus is good, though the Ink Preferred would be the absolute best bonus for your situation.

I recently asked my bank FirstTech Fed where I have a auto loan. So the bank tells me that they can accept the credit card payment towards loan without any charge , but it will show up as cash advance on my credit card. So it's a bummer for me.
You might want to directly ask your bank.

You most likely will pay a credit card fee to the loan servicer that negates the credit card points you get. Or it will show up as a cash advance on the credit card side.

Definitely the freedom unlimited - much more versatile since it is 1.5% on everything. As for how long they have to wait - normally you have to wait 30 days so that they don't reopen the old account. That may not apply if you didn't close the account and are just doing a product change.
Each year?!?!?!! That's not just the first year?!?! So basically if you take out the 450-300 your looking at 150 annual fee for the reserve? Iam coming on my 48 month on the sapphire soon. I only had the preferred before. I easily spend more than 3

Decisions? That's the benefit of the card!!!! It nets out to $150 per year and you get 1.5X on miles vs 1.25X. Use the priority pass once, $100 back for Precheck every 5 years, I can't fathom why anyone would get the preferred.
I got CSR in 2016 august, this September I downgraded to sapphire no annual fee card, earlier I never applied CSP card. So can I apply now or should I close this card before applying to get bonus?

You're not eligible for this bonus until it's been 48 months since your last bonus was received.
If you didn't even get the card until 8/16 it's impossible for it be 48 months since you last got a bonus- unless you failed to actually get a bonus the first time.

This depends entirely on your spending patterns.
If you can max the 5x of the Freedom each quarter (and that's easy most quarters, especially if you can afford to float gift cards) then you'd have to spend over 3x as much specifically on non-category purchases to even break even with the Unlimited.
Ideally one gets both of course, but which is "better" to get depends on how much you spend on what.
(and if you don't actually use the points for travel then the freedom still makes sense, but the unlimited is a worthless card as you can easily beat 1.5% CB elsewhere)
