If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull Smilie

Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

Thanks. I don't really travel much so the perks for travel don't mean much. But I am planning on spending the $4k within the first 3 months easy. But the preferred gives me the same deal there.

So you think still stick with the reserve?
You don't have a choice, really. At least not for 1 year.

I have the Reserve and have since it was first announced. I closed my preferred on 1/31/18 can I reopen that in Feb of 2020 and get the new sign up bonus?

2 years will have passed as of 1/31/20 so I figured a few week window should clearly exceed the 2 year mark.

I am undecided what I want to do with the reserve and its new fees that will hit me in August.. and instead of just downgrading that card I figured I may as well re sign up for a new bonus. I have not applied for 5 credit cards in the last 2 years.

Thanks for any insight.

No you cannot have two sapphire products at the same time. You'd need to get rid of the Reserve, and then apply for the preferred. Also, it's not four years from account closure, but from getting the bonus, so you might be in the clear for that, depending on issuance.

Weird I had opened my sapphire 2/7/16 and closed it 01/31/18. I concurrently opened my reserve 08/25/16 and its still open. Back then I had both cards concurrently so something must have changed. Got it. So 48 months. I will go back to the drawing board. I have an Ink Business from 10/10/14 that is still open I should be able to transfer my UR points to if I decide to close this Reserve.

Thanks for the info on the cards to both of you.

I need a little help here. I have chase sapphire preferred. I would like to apply the same for my wife. But my wife is not working or not authorized to work. Can I show my income while applying for her ?
You're free to show your income when you apply but you also need to give a SSN. If she's not authorized to work, I assume that means she doesn't have one. And even if she does, she'd need a pretty good credit score.

Technically speaking credit card apps ask for household income on their apps and it's somewhat of an honor system. They'll run your credit but they won't check your income.

Have a freedom unlimited, this CSP approval(not a pre-approval but a straight up approved for CSP) showed up in my online account a couple weeks back. Pulled the trigger on it.
I will be making something like 6+ air travels this year incl a cruise to Bahamas...so Thumbsup.
Also just updated my DoorDash account with CSP and free 2 yr DashPass showed up automatically.

Did you consider the Reserve before you pulled the trigger?

Hi all, I just hang up after talking to CPR rep, she told me the bonus is linked to the account opening day not when the bonus is received (very hard to know the exact date). I have downgraded my CPR to CFU just to get the bonus after 48months under CPR. I don't want to loose my new card bonus so want to clarify it. My account was opened on Jan18,2016 , so according to the Chase rep, I can apply for new card in Feb 2020 and after spending 4k I am eligible for signup bonus. Is this statement true? or I have to wait till April ( my 2016 signup bonus date) when I might have got the bonus points added to my account. Please Help ! Thanks in advance.

I did consider CSR but its high AF was not justifiable for my travel needs which maybe 2-4 personal/vacation trips a year. I do travel a lot for office but have to use my corporate card for that.

The rep was 100% wrong. It's 48 months from when you received your last Sapphire (either card) bonus.

Anyone know when this 60K signup bonus might end? I want to apply for it now, but I wouldn't have big purchases to meet the bonus until May/June.

Man. I am just getting in on this and see people talking about "reserve" vs this card. Is there a page on this thread that breaks down differences between both? Or can someone repaste it? Thanks

I applied CSR in 8/16 then got bonus, 2 months ago converted to no annual fee CSP. Should I downgrade to CF/CFU or close it then I will be eligible for CSP bonus ?
