If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull
Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

Anyone knows the break-even point for CSR compared to CSP? Currently have CSP for more than a year and thinking should I switch, but honestly the $550 annual fee is too much compared to $95 for CSP. I dont know if it's worth it, especially during the pandemic like now.
The CSR is a fantastic card. But only if you travel. And travel regularly. I travel a lot. So things like the primary rental car coverage, the priority pass for lounge access, the trip delay/cancelation, the delayed/lost luggage, global entry, 15% off Lyft, all have "good value" to me. And the extra 25% bump on points when booked thru the Chase portal is nice.
Setting those aside consider with the following.
$300 travel credit applies to even things like tolls, subway tickets, parking, etc. It's so easy to use it effectively brings the annual fee to $250.
The $60 doordash credit is nice which I personally value at about $50
So that leaves the extra points earned and 25% increase at the web portal to make up roughly $200 (assuming you don't value the items i first mentioned).
But regardless, I view the CSR as a "premium travel card". I would get only if your a frequent traveler. But, I'm sure others have leveraged the benefits enough,
And FYI, I just booked a flight thru the Chase portal. I had the airline site up as well to compare pricing. Well the exact same flight was cheaper at the portal! And I used 50% less points.

to anyone: so close CSR, then apply couple of days later to be sure? It's been 48mo+ since CSR bonus.
And this matters ? End result the card service is horrible, whether it's a secondary party or not doesn't matter. This is the actual service being provided and Chase is ok with it.
P.s. Dont get me started on their bank service....just awful.
nothing but good times with Chase, boo. AMEX card collects dust.
Just got approved for this card today. Called to have them expedite my card and asked about extending the 3 months to 6 months due to covid. The rep said they weren't allowed to do that. Does it just matter which rep you get? Is it worth a call back?

Thank you for your insights. I and my SO don't travel a lot (2-3 times a year) but I did the math with dining/travel + combine with Chase trifecta (I have Freedom and Unlimited), so I just got it upgraded to CSR, I think it's worth it even we won't be able to travel this year, at least till October!
Is the $500 cash back card still available? I need a card to get $4000 worth of boat upgrades. Or should I get this $750 card? Can I redeem the points towards my $4000 purchase and get $750 taken off?
I've come to avoid chase cards. Their customer service is atrocious. When something actually needs real customer service it's abysmal. I've spent 6 months trying to get a trip refunded and they keep stalling or asking for same papers repeatedly (trip cancellation travel insurance included on the card is supposed to be their "big benefit"). Then I had big issues with their bank and trying to just close an account.
Chase Never again. They've become too big imho. Stick to Amex or any other brand. Chase is just horrible.
Chase CS is some of the best I've experienced. If you want bad CS, go to BoA/Citi.

The preferred is still available for 60,000 UR points ($100 annual fee is not waived). It's worth $750 if redeemed for travel, $600 if you want to cash out the points, but the points won't be credited for a month or two after you meet the 4k spend so you can't deduct it from your $4k purchase. You're still positive $500 after paying the annual fee.

I'd rather get the no fee card with $500 bonus....is it available?
If anyone is opening a Chase YouInvest account or Sapphire checking but particular you invest I have a code for $750 with a deposit of $47 million or thereabouts if someone wants to use it and throw me a bone

Didn't the CSR come out in August of 2016? Is it even possible for anyone to be 48 months past a CSR sign up bonus?
