Sprint reached out and tells us that the link in the OP is outdated and this one https://community.sprint.com/t5/E...-p/1033393 is the newer, corrected one.
I didn't want to edit the OP but if the OP wanted to edit to have this link.. that would be great.

Note: Sprint stated they were in the process of of migrating all SERO accounts to SWAC, so you can either initiate the move yourself if you wish, or wait until they eventually get to your account.

Here is the dedicated customer service email. [email protected]
When I last used it, they took a full day to reply, but did so personably and thoroughly.

Is this deal worth switching to swac?

I couldn't find a compelling reason to stick with SERO, at this point. The added bonus of a 50 gb hotspot, international calling/texts/data (as I now volunteer with a non-profit who operates medical clinics in MX), and Hulu and Tidal, all for $20+ less / month ($30 + tax/surcharges; whatever that turns out to be...) than I was spending for my legacy SERO plan, seemed like no-brainer. I've wondered, in recent months, what would become of SERO with the T-Mobile talks and this checked lots of boxes for me, as my current needs are different than they were 10 years ago. I'm very satisfied with the result and am glad that Sprint took this step for those of us that have hung in there through the years.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone who had SERO, but had their plan converted at any point have any success in converting? I was about to port out to T-Mobile until I saw this thread, so figured I would give it a shot with customer service and no go.
Yes, conversion was simple and seamless, as noted in my previous post on this thread.

Not sure why all the hate for Sprint. Had them for a year and the service is great esp. customer support compared to crappy and $Verizon, tmo and other mvnos.
I think about any cell service is highly dependent on the area. Blanket statements don't really work. One service can be great in one area and total crap in the next compared to another carrier type thing...That should be a primary consideration THEN finding the right plan/mvno under the carriers that are good where you intend to use it. Not go with a carrier that has crappy service in the intended area to save a couple bucks, then complain that it never works.

Hey, I remember you from those SERO threads/posts from way-back-when.

Hi, I remember you and a couple of other names I've seen on this thread. Can't believe SERO is still a thing. I don't miss the Sprint service but I do miss the deals.

I lost my SERO account, that I worked hard to get, in my divorce 9 years ago and I'm still bitter about it.
LOL..count your blessings. Been there with SERO years ago. Bailed due to slow/no data. Tried the free plan last year and it's the same ole, same ole and I ported out after a month. If the merger with T-Mo happens, who knows, but it has to improve their network and management. In fact, CEO of T-Mo said they would close most Sprint stores.

I put me and the wife on SERO 500 back when the Palm Centro came out in 2007. I just switched to a company-paid Verizon phone and plan and was trying to save money on the wife's too. This could not have come at a better time. Huge TU OP.

I posted it in the wrong section. I realized it was showing as expired. It is not expired.

Did you learn about the conversion procedure from what I posted on that other swac thread....? 😉

I've had them for 12 years and it has been a rocky relationship. I'm in NY and the service used to be atrocious. The service still isn't great in some places. In rural areas, it is even worse. Sometimes it will show low signal, other times it will show full signal and data is still slow as molasses. When it is low signal, it drains the battery so much that I need to put it in airplane sometimes. I've kept it because it was a cheap unlimited plan with discounted phones, but those benefits have dried up. It gets the job done most of the time, but certainly not quickly.

but this is the internet!!

...i agree with you.

Unfortunately I'm in the SF Bay Area, where Sprint seems to be notorious for its weak service... and having been with them for 10+ years, I agree their service here sucks.

Anyways, too lazy to switch!

I have the SERO 500 at 40$, and Premium Data add-on charge of 10$. Will they still charge me that premium data addon charge if I go to the Advantage Unlimited Premium

I still have SERO, but only because I'm dragging my feet on upgrading my phone. My Note 5 is still kicking, but will probably become a Note 9 some time this year. New phone will probably be on a $20 Mint plan or something similar.

Now I need to decide whether to jump over to the $30 SWAC plan to postpone my Note 5 upgrade a little further.

Nope, that $10 add on premium isn't added on the SWAC plan.
