This thing sucks! I mean it sucks hard. Not the slickest deal, but with the $40 auto detail kit and the power it's a great buy. The 14 gallon part worried be about the size, but it's short and squatty, and there is a place for all of the attachments. Great investment if you are in the market.

The 14gal is the best Ridgid vac and arguably one of if not the best vac on the market. I need to check out this auto detail kit to see if there is anything in it that I can use.

Personally, I don't use filters on my "shop vacs". I use an Oneida Dust Deputy but I really want to try one of the chinese knockoff cyclones as I previously saw one on Aliexpress that had a removable top so the cyclone could actually be cleaned.

If you're near a Menards, don't forget the 11% rebate, through tomorrow (3/23).

What's everyone's thoughts about this? I have an old craftsman that I need to upgrade. Getting filters is almost impossible. My Home Depot is part of the 11% rebate

Try similar sized filters on ebay, amazon, or Aliexpress. The generics are super cheap and if it is somewhat of a standard size, you should be able to still get something to save on using your old Craftsman until you cant. It's slicker to do that than a new vac.

Just a curious question but I wonder why a cyclonic shop vac hasn't been invented yet. The technology is nearly in all consumer vacuums sold and much easier to deal with that these filters. I just use an old dyson in the garage for dry dust but it would nice to see an actual shopvac with this technology outfitted

This vacuum is terrific. I have one that is probably 15 years old and still runs great. I also have a 2nd one maybe 10 years old that is great too. I put different permanent washable filtrers that work great too. They have tremendous sucking power and are not as crazy loud as some of the other vacuums i have had. How good do they work? Well let's say you have about 100+ people arriving for a party at a mountain cabin and the first guests have already shown up. Someone plugs the toilet. Instead of plunging and hoping for a good result with an old toilet whammo you can run and get this and then five seconds of gurgle gurgle foomp and 5 seconds later the bowl is empty. I wish this was theoretical but (no pun intended) problem solved - okay postponed - but it was sure helpful. This vacuum really works well.

I ordered this vac when it was cheap around the holidays, can't remember what I paid and may have been this same price. I would pay it over and over again. It is also ultra quiet and I was surprised at how quiet. Please be aware it didn't come with all of the parts in the pics (1 1/4 to 2 inch connector) . I had to call and spent 25 min arguing with them as it wasn't listed in the description. They did send me the missing connector.

If I buy online and get my order number, can I claim the rebate? Or do I have to pick up at an eligible 11% store first? I can't run to a store to get it, but can so the online rebate if the email confirmation works. Anyone?
