Sounds like they're looking to amass a deep database of their users' movie habits and preferences. I'm guessing it's worth a little more than a dollar or two 'convenience fee' they will so graciously cover.

Definitely been doing it for almost a year. I have been using it in combination with Sinemia to avoid paying the fees. Would also like to warn people that I have had nothing but problems with Sinemia recently. If you haven't signed up for it yet I highly recommend avoiding it and going with the AMC pass or just buying the Costco tickets if you have a membership.

Sinemia are bunch of crooks. You pay for a year, they charge you extra saying you didn't 'check in at the movie' when in fact you did. You dispute the charge with credit card company, they suspend your yearly membership until you agree to pay extra. Then 2 months later they finally resume your membership. Wastes your 2 months plus you still end up paying for the bogus charges. Avoid at all cost.

They suspended my account until I send them a picture of my ID along with a selfie with said ID... They're shady as f*ck....

Yes...yes it has. Started at the beginning of 2018 and has been confirmed through at least the end of 2019. It's always been advertised as available for a limited time though.
