I have a 15c and a 30c and the upgrade to the 30 level models is worth it. I love them both, but the lower profile and much quieter running volume of the 30 makes it hands down the preferred choice for cleaning the main living space, while the 15c has been relegated to the downstairs, lesser used, areas.

I run them both every day while I'm not home and it is a rare occurrence that the floors are visibly dirty, hairy, or dusty, and that's with a dog. The 30c also handles the occasional cord much better than the 15c which is guaranteed to get stuck on nearly every cord, while the 30c can handle grounded plug cords just fine, but will get caught up on a charging cable or speaker wire.

From my understanding, the 30 has all the same cleaning functionality as the 30c, just without smart home/app integration. Scheduling through the app is nice, but in reality you will likely only do it half a dozen times through the life of the device, so the added cost of the wifi features probably isn't worth it.

A few months ago we bought the 15c which is a step below this one - and we love it! (We also spent $100 more...)

Great suction for hardwoods and shaggy carpet. I run this sucker 3X a week in the middle of the night and I'm always surprised at how much it collects.

Wish I would've gotten this deal.

I've always wondered how these types of vacuums work for pet owners. I've got a husky/catahoula mix that just sheds no matter how much I brush her.

Anybody with this type of experience?

We bought this vacuum about 2 weeks ago and we have a German Shepherd. This vacuum does a great job at picking up the hair all over the floors and balled up under everything. I would definitely recommend it for pet owners!

How does this one do on medium pile carpet, passable? Also, does this have any mapping or intelligent path features?

I have two Maine coons. So they drop a lot of hair. It definitely picks up all the hair. Highly recommend. But some hair does get stuck on the brush. But they give you this nifty letter opening tool to cut through the hair quickly. Also didn't realize this before but the tool has a little hook at the end that fits into a notch on each end of the brush to pull out all the hair at the edges. You should be fine with your dog's.

Wirecutter selected this unit as their runner-up choice for robotic vacuum.

We really want a robot vacuum (had several different Roombas over the years, but not in the last 6-7 years). This was my first choice, but my husband has a big issue with the magnetic strip. Our first floor has a relatively open layout. Thoughts? For those who have had a robot vac with and without a magnetic strip, is it a killer?

Me, I am willing to have the magnetic strip instead of noise.

I am honestly curious — how or why is the magnetic strip an issue? Is there something about it that I should know?
