Still haven't gotten the $150 Slickdeals rebate from the AMEX card deal from a month back...
Vanguard money market is about 2.49% or so currently. Places like Cit bank is around 2.45%. Other places have 2.3-2.4%ish accounts. Purepoint has a no-penalty CD at 2.6%
But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.
I checked our system and your approval is showing up on 3/8. You should receive payment by early next week.

Why get this when your return is only $350 with a balance of $10K for 12 months. HSBC's Advance Checking will reward you $350 in 6 months when you maintain a balance of $10K. Am I missing something here?

Yes, you're only doing this for the $125.
BTW, is this a business account? Why do they need that much business data?
So let's say I put in 10k into the account. And month later I need to withdraw cash because of emergency, do I get a bank card that allows me to withdraw money from HSBC atm. Or i have to transfer money online to another bank let's say Chase or TD and then withdraw the money from atm. I reall want to be able to withdraw money whenever I want if I am planning to dump money in.
I opened savings account online thru this link. Now I see two savings account in my account. One is called promo premier savings and other is have direct savings. I applied only once .dont know why there are two opened
I had opened one premier checking account few days before this to avail $750 bonus .
Now which of the two saving account should give me 2.25% apr.
I forgot to temporarily lift my credit freezes so maybe that was the issue. Will try again in a few after a temporary credit thaw.
If that was the issue, banks should tell you which credit bureaus they use and remind people to unfreeze those during the application process. Generally, everyone should have a credit freeze at all times unless specifically opening new accounts.
EDIT: that indeed was the issue. thawed my credit freeze for the day and applied again and it went through without a hitch.
What's the reason for a credit check (either soft or hard) for a savings account?? Which credit bureau did they pull from?
Thomas Sutherland realised that there was considerable demand for local banking facilities in Hong Kong and on the China coast, and he helped to establish the bank which opened in Hong Kong in March 1865 and in Shanghai a month later.
