Still haven't gotten the $150 Slickdeals rebate from the AMEX card deal from a month back...
Vanguard money market is about 2.49% or so currently. Places like Cit bank is around 2.45%. Other places have 2.3-2.4%ish accounts. Purepoint has a no-penalty CD at 2.6%
But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.
I checked our system and your approval is showing up on 3/8. You should receive payment by early next week.

So let's say I put in 10k into the account. And month later I need to withdraw cash because of emergency, do I get a bank card that allows me to withdraw money from HSBC atm. Or i have to transfer money online to another bank let's say Chase or TD and then withdraw the money from atm. I reall want to be able to withdraw money whenever I want if I am planning to dump money in.
25 dollar fee applies if account is closed under 180 days of ownership.

Where are you finding these numbers? Citi is close to 2%,

What bank bonus game are you referring to? Im looking for a place to park some 76k. I was thinking doing a Capital One 1yr CD with 2.7 APY since it looks like the Fed is likely to keep interest rate unchanged for a while.
As for the Vanguard money markets, they aren't fdic insured and aren't exactly the same as a bank account, but figured I'd mention them as although there is some risk, I consider it pretty minimal. Basically 'end of the world' scenarios, or close to it, to really cause a major loss. They can be useful for bank or brokerage promos.

Basically move your money around to different banks, scoop up the bonus, then move to a different bank.
Chase sapphire promo is like $600-$750 (if eligible). I believe their regular checking promo is around $300, savings at $150-$200.
HSBC checking promo at $350. I see Citizens bank has a $600 promo (if in an eligible state w/ direct deposit). Citi bank/Discover/Capital one has some nice promos as well. Check out doctor of credit for available promos.
As an example of how to maximize bonuses, go for the ones with the quickest turnaround (I think I read that Discover is pretty quick).... then move somewhere else. A CD isn't a bad idea once you decide to park your money, but I wouldn't park it all in once place... not if you plan to get some bonuses.
For example, you could park 10K at HSBC in a 2.5% CD (or 2.25% online savings, once linked properly) and get $350 with a linked checking account. So that 10K CD all of a sudden turns into a 6% apy. Even better if you add on the $125 promo going on here (and it actually works for you).
How long did everyone have to wait after getting approved until they got the ''welcome email''?
This process is taking way too long. Its almost been 2 weeks since I applied and Im still not able to create a log in yet. Other banks get you rolling withing 10 minutes.
I already have checking & regular savings accounts with HSBC for year over 5 years.
Am I eligible for this Direct Online savings account bonus?
I don't see why not. And since you have been a customer, you may even have an easier time signing up for it... might only take like a week or so to get approved.
Just be prepared for a signup that feels like you are applying for a top secret job with high level security clearance.

A few minutes for me. I'm not sure why it takes longer for others.

Cit bank is 2.45%. Cit and Citi aren't the same banks, although they strangely have names extremely similar.

Citizens access (another similar-sounding name) is currently 2.35%.
Purepoint just lowered their non penalty to 2.5% --
