Still haven't gotten the $150 Slickdeals rebate from the AMEX card deal from a month back...
Vanguard money market is about 2.49% or so currently. Places like Cit bank is around 2.45%. Other places have 2.3-2.4%ish accounts. Purepoint has a no-penalty CD at 2.6%

But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.
I checked our system and your approval is showing up on 3/8. You should receive payment by early next week.

Do you have a credit card? You use that for an unexpected"emergency" then pay it off using your emergency fund.

Depends on the type of emergency, but if you require funds immediately, a credit card as mentioned would work.

If not, link the direct savings to a hsbc checking acct. Usually internal bank transfers occur immediately (although doublecheck if hsbc is different). Then you could use the checking debit card (or write a check) for any emergencies that pop up.

You could do the same with other places too, like discover or capital one, or perhaps some brokerage money markets that allow check writing. Just that their rates may differ a little. If in a state where cit's online moneymarket is allowed, that's another option too.

Can I get this offer again if I've already opened an HSBC Direct account last year?

More specifically, would I need to register for a new Slickdeals account and/or Paypal account?
I opened a HSBC Direct account earlier this year for the previous $100 SD bonus, and sent SD an email asking if I could do it again. They said it would be "best" to wait 6 months. So if you opened an account last year you should be past the 6 months.

Hello, I still have not received the bonus via PayPal. If you can check my application or let me know if it's still processing I would appreciate it.

I should have listened to the others on here, I was approved on 4/12/2019 and submitted the form immediately. It is now 6/15/2019 and SD is giving me some BS about never seeing confirmation on HSBCs end that an account was approved. They asked for the HSBC which I provided, and its been quiet on their end ever since. Still no rebate. First and last SD rebate I will partake in.
